Hank Williams became a huge star at young age. Still, I'm sure in his heart he also had some gospel in his soul also. Amidst all the honky tonkin', drinkin', smokin,' cussin' and carrying on, there must have been something redeemable. I'd certainly like to think so. Hank did record and release some hymn oriented albums during his all too short career. Here's some Hank Williams gospel music.

  1. That Beautiful Home

There's a beautiful home, far over the sea,
Their mansions of bliss, for you and for me,
Oh that beautiful home, so wonder fly fair,
That the Savior for me, has gone to prepare.

    [Chorus]
(There's a beautiful home) far over the sea,
(There's a beautiful home) for you and for me,
(And it's glittering pow'r) the sun out shines,
(And that beautiful home) someday shall be mine.

In that beautiful home, a crown I shall wear,
When the glorified throne, that glory to share,
But the joys of that home, can never be known,
'Till the Savior we see, upon his white throne.

I am so sad right now. This just came across my news sources. Hank Williams Jr.'s daughter, Katherine 27 years old, was tragically killed in an automobile accident yesterday. Dear Lord Jesus, we pray for Katherine Williams - Dunning and the entire family during this time. Comfort whomever she may have had that was near and dear to her. We also hold up Hank Junior  and may the presence of the Holy Spirit surround them all with comfort and consoling love. Amen.

I'm kinda speechless right now, due to the tremendous loss for Hank Williams Jr.'s family. It's very sorrowful to have a loved one pass away so sudden and unexpectedly like this. When I was a little boy in church the congregation used to sing this song as an altar call. Beautiful. This makes me wanna cry.

Here is Hank Williams Sr., Softly and Tenderly.

In Loving Memory of Katherine Williams - Dunning

  1. Softly and Tenderly

Softly and tenderly Jesus is calling
Calling for you and for me
See, on the portals, He's waiting and watching
Watching for you and for me

    Come home, come home
Ye who are weary come home
    Earnestly, tenderly, Jesus is calling
    Calling, "O sinner, come home!"

O for the wonderful love He has promised
Promised for you and for me
Though we have sinned He has mercy and pardon
Pardon for you and for me

    Come home, come home
Ye who are weary come home
    Earnestly, tenderly, Jesus is calling
    Calling, "O sinner, come home!"
