Phil is getting to be a pretty old dude. 99 is a ripe old age. Her Majesty is getting along in years also. No wonder they aired those Judy Garland flicks yesterday on the TCM channel (Turner Classics Movies). Well, she passed away early as well, at the age of 46. She also had serious issues with medications and alcohol. At one time got herself in a bind with the DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration) about over usage of Ritalin. A non-amphetamine stimulant which is used for ADHD* and Narcolepsy*. Garland had neither ailments but abused the medicine and others. Smoking cigarettes was also another addiction for Judy. Tobacco ravaged her voice as it did Joni Mitchell's. Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder*. Narcolepsy* is a sleep disorder.

Quite brilliant. I think she was treated shamefully and I blame Hollywood for what happened to her. Not that it excuses her own drug abuse, but under the circumstance it does make it understandable.

Not a problem, bro. Topics are always subject to changes. I've not seen this film but would love to get the opportunity sometime. Was it similar to Faye Dunaway as Joan Crawford in Mommy Dearest? My mother dragged me to the theatre to see this one. A revealing movie and a bit shocking with the scene of her confrontation with the Pepsi Cola executives after her husband passed away. Oh, my! Dunaway was terrific as Crawford.

I probably will look at it some day The book came first as most "tell-all" movies in this genre do. Joan's daughter took some serious bashing over it because how badly it revealed Crawford as a person and one greatly troubled as well. Ms. Crawford portrayed as an obsessive compulsive "clean freak" and serious control issues over the people that came into her inner circle. The physical abusiveness once publized, caused Christina Crawford to become very unpopular with Joan fans. She adamantly remains behind her story. Proverbs 18:24 KJV 24A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother. What a friend we have in Jesus! I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry Hank Williams Did you hear that lonesome whippoorwill? He sounds too blue to fly The midnight train is whining low I'm so lonesome, I could cry I've never seen a night so long When time goes crawling by The moon just went behind a cloud To hide its face and cry Did you ever see a robin weep When leaves begin to die? That means he's lost the will to live I'm so lonesome, I could cry The silence of a falling star Light's up a purple sky And as I wonder where you are I'm so lonesome, I could cry Hank Williams ~ 1923 - 1953 I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry 1
