People are careless with them. I would like fireworks to be banned. 1

I live in the country, and have neighbors, but, not close neighbors (who also do fireworks). I have no doubt that there are places that should not allow fireworks (that fly through the air) in the cities because of close quarters. I have all my family in for cookout and fireworks, and it is enjoyed by all. This year, due to covid19, there are not local fireworks in the community, so probably I will have cars parked on the road watching ours. We will see . . . . Grace and Peace . . . Anything done unsafely is bad, so I understand your concerns, but banning fireworks is not the answer in my opinion . . . certainly fireworks that fly though the air are bad in close quarters in cities. There are some beautiful fountains I bought this year that are gorgeous with effects and colors . . . But, I respect your opinion too . . . Grace and Peace . . . If you live a little longer you might live to see as many people maimed, blinded, killed, scarred by severe burns, lost homes due to fireworks, as I have. I still remember the 17 year old football hero who was now blinded by them. He was so scared. All his hopes and dreams had come to an end. Sure, someday he would learn to compensate. Right then his world had ended. He was my patient in the hospital. My neighbor was the one who was burned. Three lost their lives in my community and one was a professional. My nephew was one who is badly scarred. He couldn't take any more plastic surgery to has face, neck, and arm. Losing homes is an annual occurrence, but until you have lost yours in a fire you don't realize how much of a loss that is. No, fireworks are not worth the price. 1

Have a safe holiday. Don't eat any chicken and potatoes salad that have been out in the sun too long.

Realists are not liked. Jesus said " in the world there will be tribulation , but be of good cheer ,I have overcome the world." Losing homes is an annual occurrence, but until you have lost yours in a fire you don't realize how much of a loss that is. No, fireworks are not worth the price. Well, I appreciate your advice and caution concerning fireworks. No doubt, you have seen some bad things in your life. Frankly, the issue really is what kind of fireworks people have and can they fire them safely. Over the last 20+ years my family has 'dialed-in' on the safety factor, our state of MI only allows consumer grade fireworks, and not the high-powered fireworks that states out west have. So, right there the risk compared to many states is reduced. The simplist fireworks are sparklers, that are usually used by parents and smaller kids. I have banned those from my family's fireworks because they are the most dangerous, even though they are pretty, they burn at 1800 degrees F, and almost always kids get burned. So . . . we simply do not use them. No doubt, there are horror stories of people being injured and killed by fireworks, but, almost always, they are by people who have not been trained 'how' to use them, and many times they are those who take chances (professional or not they are idiots, OR, they were in the presence of idiots). My heart goes out to all those who will be injured this weekend, albeit, MOST will be injured from eating the potato salad you mentioned in a later post, or, driving on roads from and to cookouts, or, riding ATVs, or motor cycles, or . . . or . . . the list goes on and on. I do share your concern for safety, and my family will be safe this year and years to come. and yes, I will live a little longer Lord willing (I am 68+) . . . Thank you for your concerns . . . you are blessed.
