He Shall Have Dominion

________

"Postmillennialism holds that the Lord Jesus Christ established
His kingdom on earth through His preaching and redemptive
work in the first century and that He equips His church with the
gospel, empowers her by the Holy Spirit, and charges her with
the Great Commission to disciple all nations. Postmillennialism
expects that eventually the vast majority of men living will be
saved. Increasing gospel success will gradually produce a
time in history prior to Christ's return in which faith,
righteousness, peace, and prosperity will prevail in the
affairs of men and nations. After an extensive era of such
conditions the Lord will return visibly, bodily, and gloriously,
to end history with the general resurrection and the final
Judgment after which the eternal order follows."
___ Dr. Kenneth L. Gentry.

For those interested in the study of Postmillennialism  I highly recommend the following work:
He Shall Have Dominion.
by Dr. Kenneth L. Gentry Jr.
600 pages
9 X 6 X 2 inches
Good size print.

From the blurbs:
In this greatly expanded and wholly up-dated  version of
Dr. Gentry s classic study of postmillennialism, you will
sense anew the powerful message of Psalm 72 that
Christ shall have dominion from sea to sea (Psa 72)
You will learn that God's word promises that the Whole
earth will be filled with his glory so that all nations will
call him blessed (72:17) - before Christ returns.

Many evangelicals today are concerned about those being
Left Behind on this Late Great Planet Earth as it collapses
into absolute chaos. But the postmillennialist optimistically
believes that He Shall Have Dominion through the
Spirit-blessed labor of his blood-bought Church by its faithful
obedience to the New Covenant. In this book you will find
the whole biblical rationale for the postmillennial hope, from
its incipient beginning in Genesis to its glorious conclusion
in Revelation. Your faith will be re-invigorated as you begin
to recognize that the gospel is the power of God unto
salvation (Rom 1:16) and that our Lord Jesus really meant
it when he commanded us to go and make disciples of all
the nations (Matt 28:19).
End quote.

Postmillennialism is very much alive, healthy, and strong in
the world today. If anybody is interested in studying Postmillennialism  they can start with
Postmillennialism: An Eschatology Of Hope by Keith A. Mathison
286 pages
Its a super-great read.

I will mention one other very good work in support of Postmillennialism.

The Millennium
by Dr. Loraine Boettner {FYI, the late Dr. Boettner was a male}
over 400 pages.
This work refutes Amillennialism, Premillennialism, and Dispensationalism,
then vigorously defends Postmillennialism.

This work is very popular as is Dr. Boettner's "Roman Catholicism" which
is a solid refutation of the doctrines of the Roman Catholic Church.

Upon what basis do you separate satan from the rest of the disobedient? Upon what scriptural basis is satan given special privilege to escape eternal bonds in denial or neglect of what Jude says? Jesus stated he was there when satan fell from heaven (Lk. 10:18). The Greek term used is "pesonta," which isn't falling due to gravity the way an apple would fall from a tree but falling in hierarchy, carrying with it connotations of condemnation and forced prostration. If we are to read Daniel 5 as an allusion to Lucifer/satan then satan was deposed of his throne and stripped of his glory. In Genesis we read God telling Adam and Eve (A&E) they have all power and authoirty over all the plants and animals in Eden.

Well, ENOCH2010, the serpent was an animal in the garden!

It is popular within many congregations to be taught A&E ceded their authority to satan at Genesis 3:7 but nowhere does the Bible actually ever teach any such thing. Genesis 3 describes how it was God who subjected creation to futility, not Adam and not satan.

I trust you understand the wages of sin is death! Satan sinned! And in that moment his thinking became futile and his heart darkened and God gave him over to his lusts. He is not free. Sin corrupts and not even the angels have immunity from the effects of sin. The once holy archangels cannot change the fact he is no longer holy.

So, in light of all the scriptures describing satan as a sin-enslaved finite minion of his sovereign, almighty Creator upon what scriptural basis is the accuser separated from the rest of the disobedient?

My Bible says satan is a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour , and another scripture about Christ casting out demons into swine, if they were all locked up is that scripture wrong.

Yes the wages of sin is death, my Bible says satan will be locked away at the second coming for 1000 years not until then, then after the 1000 years he will be loosed a little while to gather Gog and Magog to battel the Lord, then he will be cast into the lake of fire. This is death that awaits him.

1 Peter 5:8 New King James Version (NKJV)

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.

Note the "MAY" part  because as a born again Christian saved by grace you have to give him permission as Satan has no authority over you. He is a toothless lion to born again believers in Christ.

It's not the fact that he "may" devour someone, it's the fact that he walks about. The fact is, he is not bound at this time.

So, he walks about with the full knowledge that he has a finite time before he is thrown into the Lake of Fire. Satan should be the one sweating bullets as he is fighting a losing battle with God, who threw him out of Heaven. He is defeated and is fighting a delaying action to forestall his inevitable FATE while trying to take as many souls with him as possible by deceiving them.

I thought the postmillennial view was that satan is bound now as we are living in the 1000 year reign today.

Not me brother, I follow the Word of God not some man-made concepts. I'm hard to pigeon hole because I don't cling to religious theology but to Jesus.

As far as I am concerned that "satan is bound now as we are living in the 1000 year reign today" is Heresy [belief or opinion contrary to orthodox religious (especially Christian) doctrine] straight out of the pit of Hell. I hope I am clearly understood on that! If you have any other questions of me just ask and I will answer honestly and fully.

Good to here Roar, I agree the 1000 year reign is in the future
