Amen, Miss. That's absolutely correct. Tattoos personally have no appeal to me whatsoever. But, the situation was that the Lord opened up such a great opportunity for me to reach out to another person here in this respect. The facilitators know full well that the Right to Freedom of Religion gave me plenty of time to speak fully to this well illustrated technician about how Jesus loved her and wanted to be her Saviour. Where else could I be so free to do this? Well, maybe at Walmart. I used to witness there all the time to panhandlers. They'd hit me up for spare change and I'd make them listen to me before giving it to them. That was so cool!

God knows every person's heart. We don't know what that person has had to deal with. We haven't walked in their shoes.

You know what? The bible teacher I studied under from Britain and also had a doctorate of divinity from Oxford, England said pretty much the same thing to us. Almost verbatim. Thanks for mentioning this. That's a vital statement that is very well said.

The Tattooed Lady (Nurse?)

Well, this certainly was an interesting experience. We get a few specialists and technicians here as needed, even though still in Stage IV Covid-19 Lockdown Quarantine Status. Xray techs, some RNs, (registered nurses) and a rare physician on occasion. I was down at the nurses station getting some pain meds for this accident that occurred on the first of June last month, and came across a nurse tech specialist from OPTIMA. No, I have no idea exactly who or where she is from or does. It's all very confidential here. Weird things happen in a nursing care facility and they don't talk about much. I do have ways to get them to talk! (hehe) One of them came up as we were gathering around for some fresh watermelon punch.

Great stuff! One from OPTIMA and totally "tatted out" (w/ tattoos) strolled up for some of the punch. I've been pretty bold lately and said, "Nice 'sleeve' work you have there." (complete arm tatts) and we struck up a convo on some of her body art. I'm not into this, nor does it appeal to me. But, I did notice she had a picture of the face of Christ with a crown of thorns. Some other face was beneath and I asked what all this meant to her. I also asked if she was a Christian or not. Well, she couldn't or wasn't exactly comfortable saying something of a confession in front of the other nurses, so we stepped to the side to continue talking about things and what she did believe.

She was evasive for a direct answer for her beliefs and I asked her two things, "Who is Jesus to you?" and "Do you think He was Messiah come in the flesh?" She replied, "Well, He was a man." Hmm. We continued on these lines for a bit. I asked, "Emmanuel, God with us."? Did she think so? Or was she a 'cosmic universalist' or something? And I became more direct. She didn't want to identify as a 'Christian' for the stigma of the name for some reason. Okay. Then did she believe He was our Saviour and Lord, Son of God? And she pondered the idea. I mentioned, Simply believing for the sake of having some kind of assurance of faith as I was pretty sure we were going to come to war soon.

"World World III?" She inquired. "Yes. More or less, that would be pretty much it." was my response. China has allied with the Middle East already and there's two things they now want besides oil and electronics trades. Military forces. Yes, it's not looking good. It's immanent and is coming down the wire. I spelled out the entirety of Revelation, the false messiah, the mark of the beast, and cataclysmic events in the earth. "You know about this stuff?" she looked at me rather puzzled. "I'm involved with a Judeo/Christian website forum, where I share faith in Christ with others and write some articles and commentaries. Yes, we discuss these issues all the time. She became very interested at this point.

"Scary stuff!" She said, looking directly into my eyes. I told her, "Yeah, only if you don't know Jesus the Christ as your Lord. It will be." And I continued sharing the importance of getting our lives and hearts in order to receive Him at His coming. We don't know when or what time. By prophesies, we do know it seems indicative. Was she ready? Not yet? Wouldn't she like to be? And at that point one of our regulars interrupted the topic for something of their concern. I did attempt to plant some seeds of faith within her though. At this point, I'll strike up a conversation with just about anyone. We need to get the word out, brothers and sisters. Jesus is Lord! Thanks for taking the time to read the event of my day. God bless.

Shalom,

David/BeauJangles

P.S. I'm not sure this topic will take any notice or activity, but I'll attempt to keep with it if possible. It's been busy here and well, let's see how things go. Soon will be dinner time. It's 4:55 pm in California. Shabbat begins at sundown.

Since I owe a everything to the way God used the reformed biker gang member turned gunsmith for my eventual salvation, I really don't feel any of us should judge a persons tats or piercings.  In the home Bible Study Group we were a part of, one of our members was a reformed heroin addict.  God draws people from wherever they're at to a place they can be saved.  Praise God and His Son my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

And to think many judge on appearance.

I remember reading a man's experiences once - I can't recall how long ago or in what context - but he was a Christian who hadn't felt at ease with other Christians. Every church he joined, he felt that they would always be really stiff and judgemental, that they would all stare down their noses at him. He believed in God and wanted to lead the Christian life, but just wasn't able to find fellowship. This changed when he felt this strange urge to get a drink at a biker bar. He was not a biker, but he went in there and ordered a drink at the bar stools. The inside was filled with smoke. Around him were leatherclad fellows who were gruff and tattooed, staring at this guy who probably stood out quite plainly. He felt, understandably, ill at ease. However, a conversation started up and it turned out that they were Christians as well. It was his most positive experience with other Christians. He had finally found other Christians he felt good around, ones to fellowship with. And of all places, it certainly wasn't at church, nor among what one might think of as the average parishioners.

But Christian's drinking at a bar is not really good. I hope they were not putting it away. Yes sometimes you can receive better attention from outsiders of the church. But that's because the love of God is not present enough. Like paul wrote let us love more and increase.

I am curious why someone would get Jesus with a Crown of Thorns without knowing who He is. Then again, I am not in Tat community. :)

That's an interesting question. Here amongst the Hispanic community, which is the majority of demographics by the way, Catholicism, is also prevalent. So, "body modifications" such as bizarre piercings, extensive tattooing, and other means of individualistic identifications of oneself, are more popular today than previous other eras have ever known or realized. This is most probable.

We do have periods in history even in our country as examples. The corset, binding of the bust, etc. There's more of course. African Americans also have had their share in here as well. This would include intermingling practices of scarring to produce keloids, and methods of brandings, which other races have taken as customs. The possibilities are seemingly endless.

Is this not also indicative of how easily people will take the Mark of the Beast? I would think so. Here we have this particular religious faith that has been steeped intermingling witchcraft and shamanism as well, from the cultures of native Indian tribes. This would include the tribal regions of Northern and reaching into the Southern American continental portions. Wow. How did I get off into this topic?
