Wall of text. Don't expect anyone to read it. Don't expect anyone else to respond.

Nah. I read it. I reckon yous lot are just slow readers.

I know I'm a jerk, so I agree on that point. Where I disagree is that my wife can see into my head. She can't. The biggest problem I have is that she's not telepathic. The biggest problem she has, is that she's not telepathic.

On the other hand, we've found the secret to the perfect marriage. We're both in love with the same guy.

Me.

(That last joke was stolen from David Pawson; a lovely man who went home this year. His autobiography is called "not as bad as the truth", based on the fact that when he was maligned and slandered, his wife pointed out that what they were saying wasn't as bad as the truth (from God's perspective).

And you managed to state that agreement quite succinctly.

I think you mean Powlison, yes?

Nope. David Pawson. UK Bible teacher.

Yes, doing what God would have us do can be scary at times. I love Peter and his testimony. He is a ROCK and upon that rock Jesus says He will build His church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it! :amen:

Jesus is the ROCK upon which He builds His assembly.  It is, "You are Peter (a stone or boulder) and upon this rock (massive bedrock or cliff - different Greek word from the one translated "Peter") I will build my assembly.".

I stopped reading about half way through.

Am I a jerk? I don't know, it seems to me that I would be a poor witness if I were.

I do know I am a Child of God.

I make mistakes, but I am redeemed.

I think calling myself a redeemed Child of God is better.

Josheb,
I mentioned in chat that I had preached in my local church. One of the chatters (Alex) requested this post so he could read it. I posted it for him. I'm sorry you were put off by it's length, font size, type face, and delivery. I would suggest your opinion may have been colored by making some assumptions that are not necessarily so. God bless you, Dan'L.

I stand corrected. Thanks. Book looks interesting. I hope the criticisms are not warranted.

I think were not. I never met him myself but I know people who did, and said he was a soft, gentle, lovely man, and until his retirement (when he became an iterant teacher) he was a great pastor.

Thank you very much for posting this. My first thought was "me".. was, can be yes. To be reminded " but in humility count others more significant than yourselves"

In love when you were talking about going out to eat.. I thought.. how did he hear us talking? HAHA. Its when you said "Hey, honey, GUESS where I am taking you out to eat? " Then she says "Red Lobster" and he says "right". Unless he really was going to take her to Red Lobster.. he just lied and were talking about Christ here :) Do you see? Not here to pick this apart.. I really liked it! Its the little things we don't see or think about.

I'm often multitasking when I read a post. I will file ideas away and investigate as I can. If the post is too long I'll start to speed read it. On even longer posts I skip over parts of it to get a core idea. If the post rambles and moves around too much they lost me.

This one lost me.

For me.. when ever I post short long.. I would like others to read it. Praise GOD glory to Jesus.. its ok to get lost IN HIM!

DanL is still around. I've seen him hosting the prayer meetings in chat a couple of nights a week before my work schedule changed and I couldn't attend any longer. He's still hosting them as far as I know.

The Biggest Jerk I Know

I have a friend named Kenny.

Thanks, DanL.
Neat testimony about Kenny. And poor ole Peter, always getting into deep water (yes, it was intended) But the thing is though, Peter actually did things, made mistakes and not just talked about it. I would guess it took much your time to compose all your thoughts together. Interesting stuff, especially those who are out there in the arena, actually sowing the seed. And that "one submissive act" changed not just the world, but eternity.
A neat  read. Glad I took the time.
I applaud you brother.
