Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh. Luke 12:39-40 And this know, that if the goodman of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched, and not have suffered his house to be broken through. Just as it was in the Days of Noah, people were living life as normal, until the flood took them away to their destruction. The faithful on the other hand, were preserved and not surprised but expectant, they were in the light, not in darkness like others.
Guest kingdombrat
In theory, Jesus is pretty good at just popping in like we see when He visits Abraham and several others. Then He came as a Thief to Satan and the power Satan had over Death/Grave/Sin Nature when he brought Salvation unto us. And we await His coming like a Thief again. You gotta love how He works! So, if you do watch and take heed, He will not come to you as a thief. Watch watchman watch. Four times these verses say watch. Mark 13:33Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is. 34For the Son of man is as a man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority to his servants, and to every man his work, and commanded the porter to watch. 35Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning: 36Lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping. 37And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch. Exactly right, the second coming which occurs after the great tribulation, and the elect are gathered. As Jesus said: “But concerning that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son,b but the Father only. 37For as were the days of Noah, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. 38For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day when Noah entered the ark, 39and they were unaware until the flood came and swept them all away, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. Which day and hours is He speaking about, context is everything. For context: 29“Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, and the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. 30Then will appear in heaven the sign of the Son of Man, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. 31And He will send out his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other. 32“From the fig tree learn its lesson: as soon as its branch becomes tender and puts out its leaves, you know that summer is near. 33So also, when you see all these things, you know that he is near, at the very gates. 34Truly, I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things take place. 35Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away. So yes, you are totally correct missmuffet, Jesus will return again at His second coming, after the tribulation and gather His elect. If we do not add events to that which the Bible does not speak of, and observe who the thief in the night language is directed at (the unbelieving), then people will not be confused by popular notions which are not from the Bible, but from the imagination, inferring things which are not said.
