Ezekiel 36:27 (NKJV)
“I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do [them.]             ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The question put forth is;

‘Would God promise to do something for one, that one could do for oneself ?’

Seeing the answer to this question puts one in the proper state of heart before God... A constant looking to Him to do something for one, that one cannot do for oneself....

This is a most humbling place, yet again, a most freeing place, and a most blessed place... This is the place of the receiving from God... The heart that would grab unto this place, is a heart that most assuredly will meet God and be blessed by Him...

It is seeing that one can not, but also seeing, that it still must be done in one’s life, that this place, if maintained in faith, will see one walking in this newness of life, where the law is fulfilled in one, but not by one...

Be blessed in the finding of such a place, for a place of rest in faith it is indeed...

The word Cause here is

עָשָׂה (asah)

Used most often in the bible as "Make"  but not as forced, but in create

I will make (or remake) you to walk in my Statutes.

In context he is talking in this passage about the Nation of Israel (and not an individual) and about redeeming them from their enemies.

God on several occasions acted sovereignly with the Israel, because they were the people of promise, and their survival was paramount for the coming of Christ, but I do not believe that is the case here.

I see this as for the nation of Israel in contrast to their collective wanton behavior that at some future time they will be gathered and restored.

Eze 36:24  For I will take you from among the heathen, and gather you out of all countries, and will bring you into your own land.
Eze 36:25  Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you.
Eze 36:26  A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.
Eze 36:27  And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.
Eze 36:28  And ye shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers; and ye shall be my people, and I will be your God.

Having the spirit place within them sounds sort of like Jeremiah;

Jer 31:31  Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:
Jer 31:32  Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the LORD:
Jer 31:33  But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.
Jer 31:34  And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.

To me it sounds like the new nature that Israel gets is coincident with their having received the kingdom that Jesus offered previously. Jesus offered them their new covenant and at some time in the future Israel will finally receive it.

The question put forth is;

‘Would God promise to do something for one, that one could do for oneself ?’

Seeing the answer to this question puts one in the proper state of heart before God... A constant looking to Him to do something for one, that one cannot do for oneself....

This reminds me of the story about the boasting of the wind to the sun.

The wind was boasting to the sun about all the things it could do.

The sun agreed that there was a lot the wind could do but wanted to humble the wind with a test.

"Indeed you can do mighty things, Wind," said the sun. "You can cause the calm sea to rage with mountainous waves, and you can uproot trees and flatten tall buildings. But let us have a contest to find out who is quickest to remove that large overcoat being worn by that man on the walkway."

The wind agreed to the contest and set about blowing this way and that, harder and harder at the overcoat to strip it from the man, but the more the wind blew the tighter the man fastened his coat.

Eventually the wind conceded that it was more difficult than he thought it would be to remove the man's overcoat so he stopped trying and said, "Go on Sun. Do your best but I don't think you will succeed where I have failed".

The sun began to beam down on the man who was still clutching his overcoat tightly around him. Slowly and surely the sun bathed the man in light and warmth, its gentle rays getting hotter and hotter until the man began to undo the fastenings on his coat, loosening and opening it until finally taking first one arm out of its sleeve and then the other he removed his overcoat completely and folded it over his arm.

When force fails to get desired results, gentle persuasion succeeds.

Hello, it is an interesting analogy, as it feeds the inner man, I am pleased...

Be blessed in your relationship with Jesus..

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

      Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

      This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

      You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

      Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

      I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

      For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

      2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

      So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

      Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
      Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

      Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

      As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

      Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
      Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

      So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
