Realise that thisĀ is almost a direct quote from Isaiah. It is apocalyptic speaking much like the odes in the Tanakh.

John often used flowery and OT types of quotes. It was a way of painting a picture of reality using hyperbole.

Whats the picture?

Revelation was written about 60-66 AD. Probably the year nero died for safety.

It would have to be, to make this preterism the truth

But it was written @ 90 adĀ

IMMEDITALYĀ  Ā yes indeed If Jesus has not returnedĀ  (and I am pretty sure He hasn't) then he was not referring to the destruction of the temple which we knew happened in ad 70 years, twenty years before John had his revelation, WHICH seems pretty pointless IF this has already all happened

I don't understand.

Iraeanius was incorrect many times and NOT inspired. He said in 'Against Heresies' that Yeshua was over 50 years old. Read his writing very carefully.

Matthew 24:34 reads:Ā  Ā Truly I tell you, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened.

Jesus is talking about the end of the world and his returning. But the generation he is talking about did pass away before his return. So I do not understand this passage.Ā  Can someone explain what I am missing?Ā

Jesus was pointing to the particular future generation that will see the specific signs of the great tribulation. In other words, the same generation that will experience the great tribulation will also witness the second coming.Ā

Appears when many comeĀ running around saying they are Christ, (there are a few people claiming this today, Jesus of RussiaĀ but certainly not many). So when that happens probably a sign the end is not yet and the many claiming toĀ be Christ hasnā€™t happened yet, So is the end long way off or around the bend.

So true

that is the flaw with preterism They think the tribulation has already come and Nero was the Antichrist, but unless the return of Christ happened sever years from the beginning of that, it was nit the tribulation
