Good way to look at it.

Sometimes I come up a little short on fruition, but then I grow impatient waiting for a hamburger to be made for me at Burger King.

Jesus told us to turn the other cheek. Maybe that was Him winding up for the knockout punch. No sarcasm intended. It's just a different sort of battle we fight.

I hear ya---I do not have this all figured out by a long shot, but there are some things I am convinced of that scripture tells us. One of those is that I just cannot see a Church in defeat, so things need to be consistent with that.

Absolutely. The church is always victorious through Christ. If the Bible is any indication, some things don't always seem to be what they are. Most events happened much differently than men expected them to happen.

The kingdom of God seems to sometimes be more progressive than an instantaneous thing. Progressive and unknown to us in great detail. Yet fully known and on time with God. Here present tense yet growing intensifying.

Beautiful! Thanks for that.

I am not a modern Lutheran or anything, but that story should be shared with everyone.

So this is a good opportunity, IMO--to say something important. We should look at Luther's journey--from a monk who beat himself with stripes to where he ended up in the Faith. He wasn't perfect, but look how far the Lord took him! So very far.

Some folks would discard what we can learn from this and him.

Our God is amazing in all of His Ways!

True. His estate under the energy of his wife developed much land and gave opportunities to hundreds of poor people. She actually was pivotal in giving people back their esteem by providing a future and job training in a society that was very staid. They were both amazing Christians in their activities and not just their words.

Justin--she reminds so much of my wife in her energy and encouragement. Toni was/is a gift of the Lord and we make great partners in life. Sister, lover and best friend. Always steadfast. Always faithful and ever present.

She is what I am not!
