1Jn_2:18  Children, it is the last hour, and as you have heard that antichrist is coming, so now many antichrists have come. Therefore we know that it is the last hour.

1Jn_2:22  Who is the liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? This is the antichrist, he who denies the Father and the Son.

1Jn_4:3  and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you heard was coming and now is in the world already.

2Jn_1:7  For many deceivers have gone out into the world, those who do not confess the coming of Jesus Christ in the flesh. Such a one is the deceiver and the antichrist.

We don't find 'Satan' in the garden either but we do know from
Just being 'addressed' by the 'role'  he was playing at the time.  At least I believe this to be so.

We know that the satan was in the garden of Eden because scripture directly informs us of this - not through speculation and guesswork ...

Ezekiel 28:11-19 - You were in Eden, the garden of God ... You were an anointed guardian cherub ... You were blameless in your ways from the day you were created, till unrighteousness was found in you.

Isaiah 14:3-23 - “How you are fallen from heaven, O Day Star, son of Dawn! How you are cut down to the ground, you who laid the nations low ... You said in your heart ... I will make myself like the Most High ... But you are brought down to Sheol, to the far reaches of the pit.

NOTE the reference to the king of Babylon - Babylon is the main reference used in Revelation not anti-Christ.

Revelation 13:11 And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon.

Who is the Lamb?  So he LOOKS like Christ but only speaks lies.

He is the Anti Christ.

All these references to antichrist are in John's later epistles and are NOT in Revelation. John is writing to protect the common salvation once delivered to the saints from all manner of heresies - some of which are written of with warnings by Paul, Peter, Jude.

2Timothy 2:17 And their word will eat as doth a canker: of whom is Hymenaeus and Philetus; 18 Who concerning the truth have erred, saying that the resurrection is past already; and overthrow the faith of some.

Gnosticism, from the Greek gnōstikos (one who has gnōsis, or “secret knowledge”), was an important movement in the early Christian centuries—especially the 2nd—that offered an alternative to emerging orthodox Christian teaching. Gnostics taught that the world was created by a demiurge or satanic power—which they often associated with the God of the Old Testament—and that there is total opposition between this world and God. Redemption was viewed as liberation from the chaos of a creation derived from either incompetent or malevolent powers, a world in which the elect are alien prisoners. The method of salvation was to discover the kingdom of God within one’s elect soul and to learn how to pass the hostile powers barring the soul’s ascent to bliss. The Gnostics held a Docetist Christology, in which Jesus only appeared to assume the flesh. Although not assuming material form according to the Gnostics, Jesus nonetheless was the redeemer sent by God to reveal his special gnōsis. St. Irenaeus and other Christian theologians dismissed Gnosticism as pretentious but dangerous nonsense.

2John 1:9  Everyone who goes on ahead and does not abide in the teaching of Christ, does not have God. Whoever abides in the teaching has both the Father and the Son.
10  If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not receive him into your house or give him any greeting,
11  for whoever greets him takes part in his wicked works.

This is what John is warning the saints about - false disciples preaching another gospel, not some superpowered person of the future - the rise of false gospels that deny Acts 2:38 and Mark 16:15-20.

Not in scripture. He is the beast and Babylon.

THE JUDGEMENT OF BABYLON - Isaiah 13:1-22

13:6  Wail, for the day of the LORD is near; as destruction from the Almighty it will come!
13:9  Behold, the day of the LORD comes, cruel, with wrath and fierce anger, to make the land a desolation and to destroy its sinners from it.
13:10  For the stars of the heavens and their constellations will not give their light; the sun will be dark at its rising, and the moon will not shed its light.
13:11  I will punish the world for its evil, and the wicked for their iniquity; I will put an end to the pomp of the arrogant, and lay low the pompous pride of the ruthless.

THE FALL OF BABYLON - Revelation 18:

18:2  And he called out with a mighty voice, “Fallen, fallen is Babylon the great! She has become a dwelling place for demons, a haunt for every unclean spirit, a haunt for every unclean bird, a haunt for every unclean and detestable beast.
18:3  For all nations have drunk the wine of the passion of her sexual immorality, and the kings of the earth have committed immorality with her, and the merchants of the earth have grown rich from the power of her luxurious living.”
18:4  Then I heard another voice from heaven saying, “Come out of her, my people, lest you take part in her sins, lest you share in her plagues;
Rev 18:5  for her sins are heaped high as heaven, and God has remembered her iniquities.

18:8  For this reason her plagues will come in a single day, death and mourning and famine, and she will be burned up with fire; for mighty is the Lord God who has judged her.”
18:9  And the kings of the earth, who committed sexual immorality and lived in luxury with her, will weep and wail over her when they see the smoke of her burning.
18:10  They will stand far off, in fear of her torment, and say, “Alas! Alas! You great city, you mighty city, Babylon! For in a single hour your judgment has come.”
18:11  And the merchants of the earth weep and mourn for her, since no one buys their cargo anymore,
18:17  For in a single hour all this wealth has been laid waste.” And all shipmasters and seafaring men, sailors and all whose trade is on the sea, stood far off
18:18  and cried out as they saw the smoke of her burning, “What city was like the great city?”
Rev 18:21  Then a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone and threw it into the sea, saying, “So will Babylon the great city be thrown down with violence, and will be found no more;
18:23  and the light of a lamp will shine in you no more, and the voice of bridegroom and bride will be heard in you no more, for your merchants were the great ones of the earth, and all nations were deceived by your sorcery.
Rev 18:24  And in her was found the blood of prophets and of saints, and of all who have been slain on earth.”

Rev 17:9  This calls for a mind with wisdom: the seven heads are seven mountains on which the woman is seated;

Rev 17:18  And the woman that you saw is the great city that has dominion over the kings of the earth.”

Rome is the city that sits on seven hills (all named).

These were indeed the antichrists which the apostle warned the faithful about, those who denied that Jesus Christ came in the flesh. The Gnostics denied that Christ was born a man under the Law, to a woman under the Law.

In their utterly bizarre cosmology, Christ was an enlightened teacher sent by the Father, the "good God" who is spiritual and not involved whatsoever with the world and flesh, which were created by the evil demiurge whom the Gnostics in their vile blasphemy identified as the God of the Hebrews.

According to several schools of Gnosticism, Christ did not actually inhabit a material body of flesh. It merely looked like flesh. Gnosticism is insane and a headache to research...

The Gnostics infiltrated gatherings of the faithful like wolves in sheep's clothing, seeking to seduce and deceive the elect with their false teachings and perverted gospels.

I would put it this way. The judgments are what a righteous ruler does to the rebellious, and as those judgments are coming upon the world and people are affected then they are shown to be at their most vulnerable, without hope. So who do they turn to for `hope,` salvation from the awful judgments?

`Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision!` (Joel 3: 14)

That of course refers to the valley outside Jerusalem, just before the Lord comes, but it is a good symbolic picture of what is happening throughout the judgments.

God or Satan?

We agree here. But this is the justification of the righteous acts of the Most High God to keep as many as possible out of eternal punishment.

I'm more wondering about your take on the purpose of the beast.

So if God is pressuring non believers that they might turn, what is the beast doing? Are you saying that is from God as well?
