Food for your thought: What type is your faith of? 

As there are many verses, today I only wish that you think about them (look on, for example, that at this night people supposedly commemorate the birth of Christ).

They cried unto them, Depart all of you; it is unclean; depart, depart, touch not: when they fled away and wandered, they said among the heathen, They shall no more sojourn there.” (Lamentations 4.11-15).

The enemies’ faith was bigger than the faith of Israel’s people who was capable of changing the True God for false gods of other nations (see, for example, Jeremiah 44). Notwithstanding, the enemies only commented about the greatness of the Creator and what happened to His loved city, but nobody worried about why this happen to Jerusalem, let alone they thought in repenting and converting to the Creator.

•    “And she said unto the men, *I know that the LORD has given you the land, and that your terror is fallen upon us, and that all the inhabitants of the land faint because of you*. For we have heard how the LORD dried up the water of the Red sea for you, when all of you came out of Egypt; and what all of you did unto the two kings of the Amorites, that were on the other side Jordan, Sihon and Og, whom all of you utterly destroyed. And *as soon as we had heard these things, our hearts did melt, neither did there remain any more courage in any man, because of you*: for the LORD your God, he is God in heaven above, and in earth beneath.” (Joshua 2.9-11).

The habitants of Jericho heard about the Eternal’s deeds, believed in what they have heard (their faith is bigger than the faith of Joshua and all the other Israelites), but the only thing they mulled over was about increasing their defenses and watch over their city. No attitude of repentance and conversion. It's good to remember that the enemies only heard (and even so only part of the history), while Israel's people (chiefly Joshua) lived ALL the moments.

•    “But *if you fear to go down*, go you with Phurah your servant down to the host: and you shall hear what they say; and afterward shall your hands be strengthened to go down unto the host. Then went he down with Phurah his servant unto the outside of the armed men that were in the host. And the Midianites and the Amalekites and all the children of the east lay along in the valley like grasshoppers for multitude; and their camels were without number, as the sand by the sea side for multitude. And when Gideon was come, behold, there was a man that told a dream unto his fellow, and said, Behold, I dreamed a dream, and, lo, a cake of barley bread tumbled into the host of Midian, and came unto a tent, and stroke it that it fell, and overturned it, that the tent lay along. And his fellow answered and said, *this is nothing else save the sword of Gideon the son of Joash, a man of Israel: for into his hand has God delivered Midian, and all the host*.” (Judges 7.10-14).

The enemies of Gideon had the revelation of the Creator, believed in it (their faith is bigger than Gideon’s faith), but only spoke about this. No attitude of repentance and conversion.
