Being a "middle child" stinks doesn't it? :emot-hug:

If the youth events are costly for a parent, how do they expect you to pay? Do you have a job?

Unfortunately, life is not always fair.

Sometimes some thing will happen in life that makes it seem like the world is out to get you... only to appear to be benificial to you in the end.

Sometimes things will seem too good to be true... and often, they will be, and a seemingly great situation will turn on you.

I don't know why "nobody cares about you", although I doubt that's the case, because I don't know your family. Just understand that no matter what happens in life, God is always working, and is always part of it, and no matter what the situation is, you can rejoice in that.

When I was young(er), my older brother had everything paid for him, while I didn't. I've had to have a job since I was 15. Yeah, it sucked growing up, but now I have the money managing skills that most of my pampered friends never developed while they were younger, and I've saved a lot of cash because of that, and now I'm ahead of the game compared to other 22 year olds who are neck deep in student debts and car payments. I never would have thought of that while I was applying for McDonalds at 15 years old, but it seemed to work out alright!

I felt the same way. I was a middle child, my older sister got EVERYTHING handed to her on a silver platter, she wrecked 3 cars and just lied like crazy. My baby sister, being the baby, could just bat her eyes at daddy and get away with everything. Well, now that we are all adults now. My older sister has had 4 marriages, because if she doesnt get her way, she leaves them. She got used to getting everything as a child and expected it from a husband.

My baby sister is totally helpless now because as a child everyone did stuff for her when she made a fuss. He 2nd husband is getting sick of that attitude and may leave soon.

I worked hard, earned what I got, I didn't expect anything from anyone and got everything I ever wanted as an adult.

I own my own business, I have a wonderful husband of 24 years ( first and last husband) we have a wonderful son in college and is self sufficient.

My sisters kids are in and out of trouble all the time and have no dreams for the future.

I think what I'm trying to say is that your situation, although very difficult will make you all the better person for it. Your sibling may have a lot now but later on it will smack them in the face.

I think it is best summed up by the story of the poor beggar at the gates and the rich man.

In heaven the first will be last and the last will be first.

man- you guys are harsh on oldest children!! :-)

I am an oldest daughter... wow, and I'm going to college too... I say your family shouldn't have to pay for the crashes of a college student... they're old enough to deal with their own mistakes.

In my family I always felt, when I was younger, that it wasn't fair that I was the eldest; and that rather, my little sister got everything just for her. my middle sister was always the 'angel' who never did anything wrong in the sight of my parents, (and drove me nuts because it seemed like she actually learned from ALL my mistakes... bugged me because I selfishly wanted her to have to make those mistakes too!) and my baby sister started out her life as sort of an invalid, and since she had pneumonia at age two, it seemed like my parents treated her like she was extra-breakable.

Things don't always seem fair, but you can't tell what's inside people's hearts. And other people's perspectives are different from your own.

Circumstances change, too. When I first got into our church youth group, I didn't have to pay for the activities. After my younger sister got in, we both had to pay at least half. When my youngest sister got in, we basically got to pay for all, unless my parents decided it was special enough to warrant money. I will mention as well, that none of us teens had jobs. If we decided that a certain activity was worth money, we worked for our parents around the house on something, or we tried to find a babysitting job. It also taught us that we needed to manage our money once we had it, so that we would have some when we needed it most.

It may seem like a hardship, but if you take it as something that just is, and not as something that is either good or bad, or fair or unfair, God can use it in your life.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
