The opposite of “darkness” is “uprightness”

The opposite of “darkness” is “uprightness”:

•    “When wisdom enters into your heart, and knowledge is pleasing to your soul; judgment shall keep you, understanding shall keep you, to deliver you from …  those who leave the paths of uprightness to walk in the ways of darkness,” (Proverbs 2.10-13).

What can it usher in someone in the murkiness? 

•    “He who says he is in the light and hates his brother is in darkness until now. He who loves his brother abides in the light, and there is no offense in him. But he who hates his brother is in darkness, and walks in darkness, and does not know where he is going, because darkness has blinded his eyes.” (1John 2.9-11).

We need to be free from those who picked to walk in paths that make the vision in relation to people around us completely obscure. Many people restrict themselves to egging on their ambitions, reaching high levels that make them see people as ants, that is to say, that works unremittingly (see Proverbs 6.6-9).

Nonetheless, we can’t have laziness of cope with people that come to us. Although it is difficult to come to grips with the human being, we aren’t here only to not inflict the evil, but to combat against everything that can cause fight among brothers:

•    “These six Jehovah hates; yea, seven are hateful to his soul: a proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that plots wicked plans, feet hurrying to run to evil, a false witness who speaks lies, and *he who causes fighting among brothers*.” (Proverbs 6.16-19).

May it be clear: even though we don’t cause fight among brothers directly, if we don’t let Jesus using us to reconcile the world to Jesus and one another, we are fomenting fights among brothers. After all, Jesus made us ambassadors of the peace:

•    “And all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given to us the ministry of reconciliation; whereas God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and putting the word of reconciliation in us. Then we are ambassadors on behalf of Christ, as God exhorting through us, we beseech you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.” (2Corinthians 5.18-20).
