What is the importance of the filiation?

•    Pro 17:6 -> “Grandchildren are the crown of the aged, and the glory of children is their fathers.”.

Note that it is the parents who identify the children. That is to say, the reputation of a child come from their parents, chiefly their father. And is the grandchildren who testify who are the grandparents. In other words: if they are good grandchildren, this is a signal that their parents and grandparents are wise, intelligent and pious. 

And to reinforce the importance of the paternity, take a look at how the Creator identified Himself to Moses and all Israel:

•    Exo 3:14,15 -> “ God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM.” And he said, “Say this to the people of Israel: ‘I AM has sent me to you.’” God also said to Moses, “Say this to the people of Israel: ‘The LORD, the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you.’ This is my name forever, and thus I am to be remembered throughout all generations.”.

The Creator revealed Himself as the God of their ancestors: the heir of His promises, his son and his grandson. If you analyze, in the deep, He was taking Abraham as His son.

The own Jesus could have come in His own name or in the name of His God, but He came in the name of His Father (Joh 5:43; 10:25). One of the reasons is to illustrate Proverbs 17:6 – the Church is the crown of the Creator and the glory of the Church is Jesus. That is to say: the Church, after worked by Christ, reveal the mystery of the Creator (Eph 3:10; Col 1:27). And it is the Christ who makes the Church to be known in the heavenly regions (see Act 19:13-15).

The LORD bless you from Zion! May you see the prosperity of Jerusalem all the days of your life! May you see your children's children! Peace be upon Israel!”.

So, have a good day living in the life of your children the example left by Christ (1Pe 2:18) so that they can feel honored in obeying the fifth commandment (Exo 20:12).
