I can tell you from a conspiracy theorist's point of view and an end time researcher, it certainly has the potential to be very evil.  Most of the people that are allowed to be in charge in the worldly way down here are pretty much from hard core evil groups.

Time will tell.

Book, Chapter and Verse please where we are told to celebrate this day!! This day has only been celebrated on the 1st Jan for around 300 yrs. Used to be on the 25th Dec for a while and before that in March coinciding with other pagan celebrations i.e. easter. As all these days are typically to do with solstices go figure. The Bible was written when they used the Hebrew Calendar and obviously the Gregorian calendar was not around which is also a part of the great delusion/deception. Gregorian calendar has only been in use for around 4-5 hundred years.

I will stick to the context our Bibles were written in and let the world celebrate it pagan days that all have the fruits of gluttony, debauchery, unclean, sin, drunkenness, fornication, adultery etc etc etc. Which are the fruits of these days. As for me and my house we will serve Yahweh and worship on His days that He taught in Lev 23, again I will use the scriptures. The God I worship and serve, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, The God of the Hebrews. My God does not change neither does His word from Gen-Rev.

Biblical New Year 1st of Nissan or Aviv in Hebrew and we are not told to celebrate that day however we are instructed to worship on the 14th-21st Aviv which is Passover and Unleavened Bread including Firstfruits. I will stick to the scriptures and to what Yahweh and Yeshua and the apostles all taught thanks.

Keep in mind I used to do all these days, but one day I heard My shepherds voice and now I do what He says from His word. For Yeshua said    NKJ John 7:16 Jesus answered them and said, "My doctrine is not Mine, but His who sent Me.

Joh 14:24 "He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine but the Father's who sent Me.

NKJ Matthew 4:4 But He answered and said, "It is written,`Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.'"   Quoting directly from Deut 8:3

At the time these things were said there was no NT, the "Fathers Words and Doctrine" spoken of above are the OT.

I know there will be strong resistance to this but give me book chapter and verse with proper exegesis and context that says Yahweh says we are to celebrate these days.

Shalom

If your argument is its not in the Bible...well, neither is the internet. Or cars. In fact we should all be living like the amish.

With one exception of course...we can all drive Hondas as long as were of one accord. ;)

New Year's is not intrinsically or inherently evil.

It depends on how you define evil. If the Bible is your guide, is New Years Biblical? Is it even accurate that the "New Year" starts in what the world refers to an January?

A lot of horrible things that are done in the world today were not necessarily described in the Bible. Does that make them any less despicable?

The Amish believe in a lot of unsound doctrine. So in a lot of ways we shouldn't be like them. https://brendanixononamish.blogspot.com/2015/02/do-amish-use-bible.html

But consider this: During the Covid Plandemic, they took no shots, not boosters and they let the viruses take their course. They also did not shut down and their economy is thriving!

Also, we're not all going to fit in one Accord...

Legalism is a problem for those who think obeying the law will get them to heaven. No one can earn their way to heaven by works.

By the same token folks can't earn their way to heaven by saying they believe either.

James 2:17 - So too, faith by itself, if it does not result in action, is dead

James 2:18 - But someone will say, “You have faith and I have deeds.” Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by my deeds.

James 2:19 - You believe that God is one. Good for you! Even the demons believe that—and shudder.

Every day is a day to celebrate, including Jan 1, and Jan 2, and Jan 3, etc etc.....

When I wake up to another day, I simply say thanks Lord, and celebrate the privilege of  receiving another day of living, that's not granted to everyone;

"This is the day that the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it!"

That scripture is Psalm 118, v-24, and for those needing context;

Psalms 118;

118 O give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good: because his mercy endureth for ever.

Let Israel now say, that his mercy endureth for ever.

Let the house of Aaron now say, that his mercy endureth for ever.

Let them now that fear the Lord say, that his mercy endureth for ever.

I called upon the Lord in distress: the Lord answered me, and set me in a large place.

The Lord is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me?

The Lord taketh my part with them that help me: therefore shall I see my desire upon them that hate me.

It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man.

It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in princes.

10 All nations compassed me about: but in the name of the Lord will I destroy them.

11 They compassed me about; yea, they compassed me about: but in the name of the Lord I will destroy them.

12 They compassed me about like bees: they are quenched as the fire of thorns: for in the name of the Lord I will destroy them.

13 Thou hast thrust sore at me that I might fall: but the Lord helped me.

14 The Lord is my strength and song, and is become my salvation.

15 The voice of rejoicing and salvation is in the tabernacles of the righteous: the right hand of the Lord doeth valiantly.

16 The right hand of the Lord is exalted: the right hand of the Lord doeth valiantly.

17 I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord.

18 The Lord hath chastened me sore: but he hath not given me over unto death.

19 Open to me the gates of righteousness: I will go into them, and I will praise the Lord:

20 This gate of the Lord, into which the righteous shall enter.

21 I will praise thee: for thou hast heard me, and art become my salvation.

22 The stone which the builders refused is become the head stone of the corner.

23 This is the Lord's doing; it is marvellous in our eyes.

24 This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.

25 Save now, I beseech thee, O Lord: O Lord, I beseech thee, send now prosperity.

26 Blessed be he that cometh in the name of the Lord: we have blessed you out of the house of the Lord.

27 God is the Lord, which hath shewed us light: bind the sacrifice with cords, even unto the horns of the altar.

28 Thou art my God, and I will praise thee: thou art my God, I will exalt thee.

29 O give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.

Good luck...Best wishes.... Have a nice day...default_thumbsup.gif.bd018a59615f0dd045216f2282d3e18c.gif Celebrate and be glad!!  (it's ok:)

Do we have pagan feast for the internet, cars etc. Certainly wouldn't be putting my trust in different religious movements either. Which is why we are in the mess we are in today. We are talking about a celebration day weather one should or not Biblically. I will stick to what the scriptures says with which days should be celebrated. The scriptures will be my plumbline thanks, not some poorly stated fleshy answer trying to give a justification for acting like the rest of the world, my Bible says come out from among them My People and Be Holy for I am Holy and that is Peter quoting from you guessed it the Old Testament.

His word is living sharper than any two edge sword!! May it continue to cut away from the garbage doctrines of men and demons. Help us Yahweh, have mercy on us and continue to open our eyes please may it be so!!!

Shalom

People worship those items far more then the new years. The worst most people do for new years is drink beer and set off fire works. . .they dont really give a owls hoot about new years other then its entertainment value. Most people dont know or even care about its "pagan" origins, nor should they because the pagan religion associated with it died off centuries ago.

However people spend hours on their phone doing everything from arguing with friends to making tik tok videos. Many people literally dont know how to function without a phone anymore.

And i know a lot of people who spend more money on their car in a year then i spent on a house. Materialism is very much a religion. And a current one to.

Yet you spend your time arguing against modern holidays, because of their irrelevant pagan roots but say its ok to participate in the "religion" of materialism?

This is why i say legalism is hypocrisy. Because it is. You pick and choose what "rules" to follow and which arnt and look down upon those who dont follow "your" definition of the law.

However if one was to look at the intent of the law rather then the letter then there is no hypocrisy.

I can own a car and not sin as long as i dont let it become an idol but treat it as a tool so it doesnt come between me and God.

On the same note i can also celebrate holidays like Christmas and new years because i know i can do so celebrating God. I know where my heart is at...so its completely irrelevant that thar day used to be a holy day for some long dead religion.

Its always best to look at the intent of the law rather then the letter. Following the letter of the law leads to hypocrisy and arrogance, the pharisees and sadducees are prime examples of the downfalls and consequences of legalism.
