Notice how everyone of Yeshua's replies was from the Torah. His Father's doctrines. The Law. Big clues hear on how to overcome the devil as He did in this particular context. You are correct there is only one way. Replacement theology and Anti-Semitism is not that way. Following Yeshua the way the 1st century disciples is that way, well before, centuries in fact any church denomination or the doctrines of men (church fathers) were around. Who were mostly Anti-Semitic hence the root of the disgusting vile doctrines that are with us today, purely the work of Satan himself. "The Way" as they were called were known at the time as another branch of Judaism as at the time there were around a dozen branches of Judaism with the Pharisees, Sadducees, and Essenes being the well known ones. They followed and kept the 7th Day Biblical Sabbath, the Feasts of Yahweh and ate clean as the Gospels, Paul's and other's letters all bear witness to those facts. Yes there are differences to "The Way" and all the other sects of the day. Being the Messiah who manifested as a Jew, literally from the tribe of Judah. The word made flesh. There is not one scriptures that teaches the Biblical 7th Day Sabbath was changed from Saturday to Sunday, or either all foods are clean. And before you go quoting Matt 5:17 do a thorough study on what fulfilled means. Also Rom 10:4 thoroughly research what the end means. And Colossians 2:16 about judging food and drink etc thoroughly investigate what is being taught here. My experience shows me that people love quoting these verse and others like it and they do not understand context, biblical languages and biblical culture all of which MUST be applied into more accurately understanding the Bible. James (Jacob) is a Jew who lived in Jerusalem. People know who you are by your works, by how you live i.e., keeping the commandments is the witness of who you are. Sorry the 3,000 souls were devoted Jews from the nations. Being present for the Feast of Weeks as taught in Lev 23. Because they were devoted, that's why they were there. 3 times a year you shall appear before Yahweh your God in the place I choose to put my name (Jerusalem). They were devoted observant believers of God's word. Acts 2:4-6 NKJ 4 And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. 5 And there were dwelling in Jerusalem Jews, devout men, from every nation under heaven. 6 And when this sound occurred, the multitude came together, and were confused, because everyone heard them speak in his own language. I am not confused. The Sabbath day has always been and will always be on the 7th day (Saturday) in the Bible I read. The 7th day is the only day of the week given a name in the Bible called Sabbath or in Hebrew Shabbat. This is when they met in the synagogues as did Yeshua our Messiah did His whole life "as His custom was". As did Paul, Peter, James etc. There is no dualistic approach my friend, there is only one, the way of our Messiah. Acts 10:25-28 NKJ 25 As Peter was coming in, Cornelius met him and fell down at his feet and worshiped him. 26 But Peter lifted him up, saying, "Stand up; I myself am also a man." 27 And as he talked with him, he went in and found many who had come together. 28 Then he said to them, "You know how unlawful it is for a Jewish man to keep company with or go to one of another nation. But God has shown me that I should not call any man common or unclean. It is about people. God was showing and teaching Peter that all people are made clean by the blood of Yeshua, nothing to do with food. He was breaking Jewish customs and oral Law also known as the traditions of the elders which is not God's Law, it was their own laws and customs which is what Yeshua came against all the time not the Law of God. Yeshua is the Law of God, He is the Word made flesh. How did God show him? By the vision of the sheet using unclean foods as an example nothing in this passage teaches that it is Ok to eat unclean food it is teaching the Jews all men and women are acceptable and are clean in Messiah if they choose to be. I suggest a key to overcoming the devil is what is taught in the book of Ya'akov (James) KJV James 4:7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. The key is to submit to God. This needs to be understood from the context of the Bible and not man made doctrines. How does one submit to God? Repentance, receiving redemption by the shedding of innocent blood that being Yeshua our Messiah and then worshipping and serving Yahweh, living how He wants us to live as set out in HIS WORD beginning at Gen 1:1. Not Matt 1:1. When this was said and written the NT was not compiled until centuries later. The context of submitting to God was submitting to what His word teaches. We are living in days when many are not submitting and we see the fruit of this in our societies and countries we live in. It is plainly obvious that lawlessness abounds and the heart of many crow cold Yeshua words not mine. Lawlessness is without the Torah (Law) of God. Pretty significant especially when Yeshua declares He will say to many depart from me I never knew you. you who practice lawlessness. Just another way of saying you who do not submit to God. There is much deception in our day as He says one of the signs of the end will be. The first thing Yeshua says is "Take heed let no one deceive you". I will just say it how it is. Yeshua kept the 7th day Sabbath as recorded many times in the Gospels, as did the Apostles and 1st century believers also recorded many times in Paul's letters to the assemblies who wait for it met in synagogues on the 7th day Sabbath day. He ate clean foods and kept the feasts of His Father as taught and instructed in Lev 23. He is these very same words manifested in the flesh. Anyone that teaches that the Sabbath day has changed, that the feasts days are no more and days steeped and rooted in paganism are now the accepted feasts. Anyone that teaches you can eat anything you want and not what Yahweh instructed himself in Lev 11. It is OK to be in relationships with the same sex, or to have be bi or the rest of it. People that advocate and preach these things are deceivers, false prophets, and false teachers. These are the ones Yeshua says you are practicing lawlessness. Opposite of what His Father taught and instructed in the front of the book. God does not change. Yeshua kept His fathers doctrine as He said my doctrine is not my own.
