Actually I think using a tragedy like Katrina to try to convince folks the "YOU" are so annointed that GOD is speaking directly about this event to you is pretty SORRY and SADISTIC.

Why don't you HOLY Prophets come down here to the Houston Astrodome and spew out your poison to the poor recipients of "God's Punishment". Get a bullhorn and yell it out. Your right, I'm low and I don't have many good qualities but I believe your full of it and phony. How dare you spit out this junk! I can't stand it when people feel lead to go around saying "Well..the Lord told me this and that". "See, I'm special, I'm the chosen one to bring the message of gloom and doom". "You had better listen to me because I got a special dial-up to the Lord" 

No... actually your a spiritual Narcasist . The lord told ME ME ME ME ME!!!!Look everybody! Look at me!! I'm sooo spiritual!!! God lets me in on his secrets!You had better understand that I'm the one.

It was a big mean storm that has destroyed the lives of many and they don't need to hear from the devine punishment pushers right now. That what I call low.

Dead Children/Grandparents/Parents/Cops/Expecting Mothers ect. ect. and you have the nerve to say that God told you what its all about. I don't care if you a Preacher with a PhD. If no one else will put you in your place for saying such hateful things, Mr. Low Life here will. They can kick me off!

i am sorry but i feel i would like to say something on behalf of vrspock... i think your responses here have been very rude and belittling to ppl.... My husband is not one to stand up and say "ME ME ME".. he is quite the opposite...and He never just lets anything come out of his mouth without being sure .... i dont recall him saying he is a prophet or that this was some great revelation i dont even remember saying that those ppl deserved what happened.... the truth of the matter is that the end times are at hand.... as we all know that God's time and ours are not the same and His doesnt want to see anyone go unsaved.... My husband is simply saying that everyone should "get their ducks in a row" It states in the bible that you are either for Him or against Him... and the signs are showing that it is time for those on the fence to jump to one side or the other.. and i am sure all thing we can agree on is that it would be God's side they hop off on...

I myself believe that the gifts of the Spirit are still working today... if you dont...then that is your opinion...hopefully you can calm your anger long enough to see that amongst the many different opinions we should all come to some decision wether we want to see the lost saved... as it was said before... we all have an "end"... only God knows when that is...so as my husband said... it is better to be prepared than not..... I believe that everything in life happens for a reason... and i believed this way before Katrina...i also believe that God is a just God... so instead of fighting here on this site over this....i choose to go serve the Lord in the shelters here that are being filled with katrina victims...and maybe to your surprise...i am going to hold the hand or give a hug...or lend a shoulder... to all i can no matter if they are gay, practice voodoo, an alcoholic, drug addict... what matters to me is that i can show them the love of God through my walk...

i am sorry that your judgement against me or my husband is that we are sadistic,phony, and full of it.... but i dont answer to you...i answer to the only one who matters and He knows where our heart is. I am guessing that you are going to respond that vrspock is judging... but again that is an opinion the only one that needs to make that decision is the Lord.

My intention is not to fuel any fires here...but i could not let you go on and bad mouth vrspock... I pray that we can find God's glory in all things.

OK..I do have an attitude but I don't believe my posts are as mean. There are thousands of good God fearing, faithful folks in N.O. and in this Country and they are exempt from God's wrath. Vrspock has it wrong. If you think its OK to make these assertions especially at a time when so many good people are in so much pain, well...I suppose I view that as the wrong attitude. But I will admitt..vrspock has a friendly tone when he says these things so I suppose thats all that counts. My tone has been more spirited so I must be wrong. Im sorry!!! America had this coming and we deserve more! Not! Just try to weigh the goodness of America with the Bad. Come down here to Houston and see for yourself what the Church is doing and you will know that there are many still being faithful to God and not deserving of Sodom type wrath. You can push the Gloom and Doom but I am still very optimistic about a nation who reacts the way we do during these NATURAL tragedies. There is still a very good and Godly strand in America.

I am sure there were more than 20 Godly folk in New Orleans. I don't think we can bind God to a previous ordinance on a foreign city though...He is God after all. I don't know if this event was intended to single out New Orleans or not and I will not pretend to know that.

However, I do know that it most assuredly got the attention of the world. I sat in a church Tuesday night with over 2500 other people of all races and backgrounds while a half a block more were turned away due to fire codes. This was the second training session for Red Cross volunteers for the three shelters recently opened in our city. There is an overwhelming Spirit of Unity in our city. Dallas TX, I have heard has taken in more than 150,000 evacuess and already has homes and jobs lined up for all of them. If that's true, then Dallas TX deserves an award for the most orchestrated act of unity ever recorded in history. Not to mention the unprecdented response from foreign countries willing to offer us aid...including unorthodoxed responses like that from Cuba.

I also know that when God acts, His actions usually have a multitude of purposes behind them and not just a single tunnel vision of punishing the ungoldy. Our city now has several thousand Red Cross certified volunteers running around and there numbers are growing. If the western half of the country did fall off into the ocean we are already prepared to respond to the disaster as much as is humanly possible.

I also take to heart that "All things work together for good for them that love the Lord"....even devistating disasters and events of massive destruction...whether they be divine acts of judgement or hold a more dynamic purpose such as...preparing us for things to come.

How does death and destuction work to someone's good? I don't want any sympathy but I will tell you something to proove a point. I am currently dealing with a condition that runs its course to the toe tag room. I can't believe its for my good. Its destroyed my family finances, marraige and career at 42. I refuse to believe its from God. It is just NATURE my friend. It happens. I will accept that it is part of the fall but its not a specific punishment. I see cancer kids and that is not a specific punishment. Nor does much good come out of it. The only lessons learned are how to weep or die. I could not think of telling someone that their phycialogical misfortune or deadly weather is a specific punishment from God. We all die because of sin but some earlier because of nature gone wrong. Its not a sign. Its just what it is. You may not understand this, but what you are saying on this public forum is very calloused to some. And just because you say God talks to you dosen't make it so. As a matter of fact, its quite dangerous for people to just blindly accept what someone says is a word from God. You do have a right to say these things but that dosen't make you right. If I get axed for this, it would have been worth it. I don't hate you. I do hate what you are saying and I disagree.

If you have done something that is deserving of devine punishment, I hope you are givin grace unlike the storm victims.

God doesn't judge us by what we do though....He judges us by why we do it. I do it because I feel called to. I do it because I believe it is the will of the Father. I do not do it because I'm looking to feel good for any reason or to find a purpose in life....I already have a purpose...and that is to serve my God anyway I can. I do not do it to please God...because I realize that there is nothing I can do to please God. I do it because I was bought for a price by Christ...I am not my own and therefore it is not by my works that I will be judged. If I am truly Christ like, then His word will be engrafted onto the pages of my heart. When the Book of Life is opened up (Christ)...the pages of my book (my heart) will be a mirror image...provided that I am truly Christ-like.

One question that came to my mind while sitting at the Red Cross meeting was how many of these thousands are here because they need a "feel good" by doing the "right" thing. How many of them are coming out to compete...to see who can out do who in their good works. How many will actually create problems by not working together with other churches in a seemlessly integrated manner regardless of differences in demographics. If we are all truly of one body, then this should not happen....but it already has....the two shelters run by churches are being a little resistant to bringing in outside help from other churches. I pray that has changed today.

Mam....We should always be getting our ducks in a row. Storm or not. That is a general statement. True but not prophetic. When someone claims visions or words directly from God, that is prophecy. This is what is being claimed. One must be very careful when making such a claim. You can say ''I'm not a prophet" but if you repeat a direct word given to you by God, your are for sure a prophet if the word is true. Are you...Are you not?

Let me ask you this....how many people know about your situation and then reflect on their own lives and immediately thank God for their next breath? How many people see the cancer kids and reflect? I know when my mom was dying of cancer I most certainly reflected....as did my entire family. One of our church members was brought to God through the death of her child. God can take anything and bring good from it. He's just that powerful. No, you are not being punished. No the cancer kids are not being punished. All things work together for good....even the bad things. This is why Satan can't win....his own feeble attempts are used against him. Look him in the eye my brother and smile at him with a face made of flint.

I do not deny that a pecentage of good can come from these type of situations. I dogmatically claim that most of what comes from these situations are horrible and of no use to the poor soul getting the toe tags. I do not thank God for my illness. That would be a lie and profoundly foolish. I'm not thankful for it. I am thankful for other things that I experienced here on earth. Likewise, I would not expect the storm victims to be thankful that their loved one drowned or their home was destroyed. I don't even think God expects us to be thankful for that. It was just a bad storm or a bad physical body. Happens all the time.

i am wondering... how is it prophecy.... have you read 1 Cor 12... do you not believe in the gift of word of knowledge... do you truly believe that the Lord is above speaking to someone about something that took place or is taking place....

i will give you a biblical example if you like... Acts 9:10-18 if you want more...i will share......The Word of Knowledge is a fact of present or past that is known to God and is revealed unto us in small fragments to carry out his purposes on Earth.

The Word of Wisdom is revelation of what God knows on future events. It and prophecy are very closely entwined..

The Word of Knowledge is not knowledge of future events. Deals with facts of present day and history.
