And the king called the Gibeonites, and said unto them; (now the Gibeonites were not of the children of Israel, but of the remnant of the Amorites; and the children of Israel had sworn unto them: and Saul sought to slay them in his zeal to the children of Israel and Judah.)”.

It’s truth that Saul made a mistake. Nonetheless, for the sake of the alliance of Joshua and Israel’s leaders in his time, they couldn’t destroy them. And, as the Creator said to them?

•    Num 33:55 -> “But if ye will not drive out the inhabitants of the land from before you; then it shall come to pass, that those which ye let remain of them shall be pricks in your eyes, and thorns in your sides, and shall vex you in the land wherein ye dwell.”.

Other example of error in virtue of the precipitation when judging was the injustice made by David with regard to Mephibosheth:
