Anyway of interpreting adultery verses in Proverbs 2,3,6,7 & 9 in a more gender-neutral / gender-inclusive / politically correct manner

  • Proverbs 2:16-19
  • Proverbs 3:3-20
  • Proverbs 6:24-35
  • Proverbs 7:5-27
  • Proverbs 9:13-18 ( may be more broader than just adultery, sexual fornification, sexual lust because it could also include being engaged in financial / material theft or robbery or corruption )

Most of the aforementioned Bible book of Proverb's verses deal with
adultery, sexual, fornification, sexual lust, etc., except maybe
Proverbs 9:13-18 ( see reason above ).
In all the aforementioned verses, it seems that:

A) the women are the culprits/miscreant ( I suppose to be more
lawyerly or to use legalese, we could say that the women in said
verses lean towards being the "principle of the crime" )

B) the men seem to be like Naive Accomplices in a crime.

I read both
1) a formal equivalence literal translation of the Bible like New
American Standard Bible 1995 ( NASB1995 )

2) , and also a dynamic / functional equivalence relatively
gender-neutral / gender-inclusive politically correct translation of
the Bible like Christian Standard Bible ( CSB )

, and both translations seem to make the women seem like the
"principle of the crime" , and the men seem like Naive Accomplices.

Essentially, it seems like male chauvinistic because the
aforementioned proverbs verses seem to be warnings to naive men about
the dangers of the sexually promiscuous women.
The aforementioned verses fail to address the case of
1) lonely hardworking working wives, and her handsome promiscuous male colleague
2) lonely housewife, and the handsome promiscuous male neighbor/male
supervisor(if she lives in an apartment)

Could someone please give some insight as to whether or Not the
aforementioned verses could be interpreted so that they can be more
gender-neutral / gender-inclusive / politically correct?

How about we don't worry about being "politically correct" and take GOD's Word exactly as HE gave it to us. Changing GOD's Word leads to apostacy.

It is a father speaking to his sons, the father Solomon had experience with women he had 700 wives and 300 concubines

Most of proverbs is a collection of fatherly advice and various collections of wisdom .. he was a collector of knowledge he would travel and acquire words of wisdom.. but these are his teachings some in the cases you describe specifically for his sons, to change them to gender neutral would be a true misrepresentation of the Word

Because his collection was put together after his death it would remain intact as written, to change that now would not be received well and a tactic a liberal preacher ( someone that reads the Bible with a pair of scissors ✂️ to cut the Bible into saying what he wants it to say) would do

Men and women alike can learn a lot from Proverbs and it can be applied to everyday life, let’s not forget the context and try to mold it to worldly standards

the Bible doesn’t need to mold itself to the world, the world needs to mold itself to Gods word

well said Rick. i have been studying God's Word a lot just lately and have seen the subtle changes that alter scripture due to revisions which i always understood to be forbidden to be done to either add or remove to scripture. puts a different emphasis on doctrine and thereby changes it!

There are a lot of things to unpack here

but mostly what is being referred in a negative way from the first few examples is the Harlot, the prostitute which as the oldest profession as they say (the woman who chooses to be evil and tempt men for money)- it is not smearing women as a whole here. So the advice is sound.

For by means of a harlot
A man is reduced to a crust of bread;

Also you must take into consideration who the writer of proverbs is. As the book of Psalms is flavored and conformed to the faith and fight of David. So to is proverbs shaped and formed to Solomon, that while very wise did have a slight problem in that in reign as king brought him 700 wives and 300 concubines, mostly from political connections. But this slanted his thinking a bit. He found the women among his "flock" who were wise to be great treasures (referring to wisdom as a woman)  and those who were problematical to be great pains

You must not let the social tendencies of this day get in the way appreciating the wisdom

In the end men and women are different (yet equal) and compliment each other, one being strong where the other is weak and visa versa

And "Vive le difference" I seriously think it does a disservice to women to try and make them be (compete with or whatever with) men, they should be strong women

Oh and anyone who would refer to a woman as the "weaker" sex has never been married ;)
