Why spend time and money on what don’t satisfy, sustain and give health (Isaiah 55:2)?

•    Pro 20:1 -> “Wine is a mocker, strong drink a brawler, and whoever is led astray by it is not wise.”.

The malefaction of the alcoholic drink is undeniable. It was thus that the daughters of Lot could cohabitate with him:

•    Gen 19:33-35 -> “So they made their father drink wine that night. And the firstborn went in and lay with her father. He did not know when she lay down or when she arose. The next day, the firstborn said to the younger, “Behold, I lay last night with my father. Let us make him drink wine tonight also. Then you go in and lie with him, that we may preserve offspring from our father.” So they made their father drink wine that night also. And the younger arose and lay with him, and he did not know when she lay down or when she arose.”.

It was thus too that Absalom could slay Amnon:

•    2Sa 13:28 -> “Then Absalom commanded his servants, “Mark when Amnon's heart is merry with wine, and when I say to you, ‘Strike Amnon,’ then kill him. Do not fear; have I not commanded you? Be courageous and be valiant.””.

It’s not in vain that the Holy Scripture says:

•    Pro 31:4 -> “It is not for kings, O Lemuel, it is not for kings to drink wine, or for rulers to take strong drink,”. 

And below we can read about the importance of this commandment:

•    Hos 7:5 -> “On the day of our king, the princes became sick with the heat of wine; he stretched out his hand with mockers.”.
•    Isa 28:7 -> “These also reel with wine and stagger with strong drink; the priest and the prophet reel with strong drink, they are swallowed by wine, they stagger with strong drink, they reel in vision, they stumble in giving judgment.”.

Did you see how alcohol was making kings, priests and prophets corrupt?

The truth is that:

•    Hos 4:11 -> “whoredom, wine, and new wine, which take away the understanding.”.

Therefore, those who drink alcohol won’t inherit the kingdom of heaven:

•    1Co 6:10 -> “nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.”.
•    Gal 5:19-21 -> “Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.”.

So, have a good day living like this:

•    Eph 5:18 -> “And do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery, but be *filled with the Spirit* ”.
