What is the meaning of the passage of the ten virgins (Part 13)?

MESSAGE
Observe carefully how Jesus concludes this passage:

•    Mat 25:13 -> “*Watch* therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour.”.

Note that the focus of this excerpt is vigilance. But wait, these 10 virgins were very dedicated to Jesus and His word. So much so that, all of them knew when Jesus would come (they only didn’t know the hour) and believed in it (to the point of staying in the street at night when there wasn’t electricity). Nonetheless, what Jesus said to the apostles?

•    Mat 25:13 -> “Watch therefore, for *you know neither the day nor the hour*.”.

So, these virgins will be more clarified than the apostles. So, what is the point in this passage? Many people think that the only problem is the lack of oil. Nonetheless, there is other problem:

•    Mat 25:5 -> “As the bridegroom was delayed, they all became drowsy and slept.”.

As Paul said:

•    1Th 5:4-8 -> “But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober. For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night. But since we belong to the day, let us be sober, having put on the breastplate of faith and love, and for a helmet the hope of salvation”.

The order is to stay awake. You can argue: “but the five wise virgins were saved”. 

Yes, by Jesus’ mercy:

•    1Th 5:9-10 -> “For God has not destined us for wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us so that whether we are awake or asleep we might live with him.”.

However, pay attention carefully to what the wise virgins answered to the fool ones:

•    Mat 25:8,9 -> “And the foolish said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.’ But the wise answered, saying, ‘Since there will not be enough for us and for you, go rather to the dealers and buy for yourselves.’”.

So, although the wise virgins had oil in their vessels, the portion of it the vessel was a modicum. So much so that these virgins couldn’t share with the fools.

Be careful! Although these virgins were saved, but, and about you? Do you have sufficient oil in your vessels? By the way: do you have any vessel?

If yes, have a good day filling your vessels with many ken and wisdom. Otherwise, seek out to find some ones.
