Ezekiel 8:16

When I studied that, it creeps me out.  Maybe it's the "Isaac Newton" ideas in me where I take interest in space and time. But I mean 3 of the 4 churches I was a member of faced east and most (but not all) churches face east. And you have the "Easter Sunrise Service" where people face east.  I don't bother going to such services but seriously, one has to wonder what the motivation is for building a church in that direction.  It does not seem to have any other significance than to face the rising sun.  Does this passage bother anyone else?

what kind of question is this, when the text you are so disturbed about is in the context of:

Exactly.  Makes me wonder as to the motivation like I said.

Every Catholic Church and every Masonic lodge faces west - east. The Pope/Worshipful Master sits in the east with the sunburst behind him. The Tabernacle/Temple of God faces west. If a man wanted to meet God he had to face west and travel west from the altar in the east to the Holy of Holies in the west. Almost without exception the pagan religions face the rising sun. We have a beautiful example of this in Genesis 12:8. Abraham placed himself between Ai in the east and Bethel in the west. Bethel means "House of God" and Ai means "Ruin" when Abraham moved south there was a famine in the land (of milk and honey). Nothing in the Bible is there by accident.

And the gory truth is that the men of Ezekiel 8:16 were God's people.
