Hi all.

I have to say, I love little family churches.

Those that are like a family are such a blessing.

Some of you might think that the bigger the growth the better.

But I don't know.

You see, in a big Church, no one can really get to know everyone else.

Whereas, in a smaller Church, not necessarily tiny, but not huge, people can meet everyone in the Congregation.

I'm not against big Churches,.....but I feel a lack of "family" feeling there.

Speaking of family, I was visiting Suffolk, in June, and I stayed at a friend's house for the weekend.

On the Saturday night, she was telling me about everyone in her Church/Chapel.

Thinking about it now, I have just realised that I could not say the same about me.

I am reminded of haularious (is that the spelling?) talks with members of our Church....

Mum asked them how long they had been coming to our church, as she had never seen them before...

They laughed, and said they had attended this very Church for about 3 years!!!

People have asked me if I'm new, and I tell them that we have been members for 10 years!!!!!!!!! (Which is a long time!!)

LOL.

Anyway......anyone get the feeling?

What about you?

Do you like big or small churches?

I am that way to. Forgiven is a lovely small Church. We all know one another. They are like mispuchah(yiddish for family) to me. I know my Pastor's family. And hang with them sometimes after services.

But I enjoy the energy of Big Church's too. The spirit can be felt sometimes in bigf Chruch. And I got saved in one. So I am a tad biased on that. I also got baptized in a small church. So I love 'em both.

I'm afraid that small churches are archaic, like small grocery stores.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

LOL....well, as I'm a Traditionalist, I'm all for those so-called "grocery stores!!!"

I like churches that are on fire and passionate about Christ. I don't care how many services or what facilities they offer or how prestigious they are or how many or how few people go.... those do not really matter. I like a church that is Christ focused, eager to live out its purpose for him, eager to be salt and light, eager to love as Christ loves and as Christ commanded us to love.

I'd really love to be part of a store front church that purposes itself to outreach... that's be awesome!

I love being part of a little church. I've been part of both (and still, in a way, consider myself a part of my big home church), but I absolutely LOVE the community spirit in the little church I go to while I'm away at college. Sure, I felt like I was in a community at the big one, but it was more in a clique sort of way; we each had our seperate groups (whether they be Youth, young marrieds, choir ladies, etc. etc. etc.), and we all just came together on Sunday mornings. I'm not saying it was bad...I just find it so refreshing being on a first-name basis with everyone (literally) in my church. I also love that a bunch of my profs go to this little one; I know my philosophy prof's little girls (SO cute!!), I'm close with my Literature prof's oldest daughter, I had a great conversation with the wife of one of my Theology profs...that kind of thing makes me feel so blessed to be at this college.

I like being a part of a church that is bringing glory to God by being obedient to His word. The number of people who are attending at any given time is irrelevant as long as they are doing what they are supposed to do

I sometimes feel that bigger Churches are losing the togetherness.

I'd rather have a little Church, non-denomiational, and tiny......and everyone knows each other, and sometimes come over for meals, and get-togethers, and it's lika big family, than have a huge, thriving church, were no one knows anyone else, and you feel intimidated...

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
