In my book, that is date setting, which I shy away from.  Because if we set a date for the pre-trib rapture (i.e., first fruits), then it's an easy count down to the Lord's return . . . and we know no one knows that time, except our Father.

Best not to speculate but stick to Scripture, right? :)

Right.  Some speculation is probably OK, but we should hold this speculation very loosely . . . not get all dogmatic about it.

P.S. everyone is going to know the Second Comings timeline, that is a given, the Beast can only rule for exactly 1260 days.

Yes, at that point it should be a given.

Well, exactly; look what happened to OT prophets who prophesied false things.............

Not that the church is in the same position as Israel, but like you say, it's good to take care not to make what may be informed guesses into dogma.........

We'll have mansions in heaven?

Do you have a problem with that?

Joh 14:1-4  "Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me.  (2)  In My Father's house are many mansions (Gr. monē ); if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.  (3)  And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.  (4)  And where I go you know, and the way you know."

Strong G3438
μονή
monē
mon-ay'
From G3306; a staying, that is, residence (the act or the place): - abode, mansion.

Such date setting is a mistake, but it's not the end of the world.

And it is not a good idea to compromise our faith.

I have problems with that. The Book of John is about getting the life of God into man by God coming to live in man. Chapter 1 introduces "Bethel" (the House of God). Chapter 2 introduces the House of God "not made with hands" - Christ's Body. Chapter 3 sets forth how God's life gets into a man. Chapter 4 designates the spirit of man as the new PLACE where God dwells. The "House of God" is severally;
1. The Tabernacle of the Wilderness
2. Solomon's Temple
3. Zerubbabel's Temple
4. Christ's Body
5. The Church
There is no thought of heaven being the House of God. He might inhabit heaven and name it as "His Throne", but scripture never designates heaven as "the House of God".

The concept of "mansions" is not warranted. The correct translation is "abode" as in verse 23.

A mansion is an abode, in this context a spiritual one prepared by our Lord Himself.

If pedants don't like "mansion" for Greek monē then what will they say about "house" for Greek oikia.

Joh 14:2 In my Father's house . . .
