Matthew 11:28

COME TO ME ALL YOU WHO LABOR AND ARE HEAVY LADEN AND OVERBURDENED AND I WILL CAUSE YOU TO REST.( I WILL EASE AND RELIEVE AND REFRESH YOUR SOULS.)

Then verse 29

TAKE MY YOKE UPON YOU AND LEARN OF ME FOR I AM GENTLE(MEEK) AND HUMBLE (LOWLY) IN HEART AND YOU WILL FIND REST(RELIEF AND EASE AND REFRESHMENT AND RECREATION AND BLESSED QUIET) FOR YOUR SOULS.

Wow!!! What a powerful verses!!! This means that the quiet precious time we give God causes this...I went to the class on this during a women's conference and wow ..she was saying that God doesnt want our leftover time or spare time ..He wants our precious time which is the time we give all our attention to Him. Not while driving, working, or doing anything else..just the time to grab the Word and get in a quiet place alone with Him and give Him all our attention without thinking about anything else....I thought about how i love that time when my husband does this..if he never did i would feel rejected and it goes both ways if this special time wasnt taken (yes i mean taken not spare time or leftovers) this is a time that is set aside just for me.. because he loves me that much and it makes me feel special..if we stayed so busy and didnt take the time for each other then our relationship would fall apart ..just like our relationship with God. He is hurt and rejected when we dont have a quiet special time everyday set aside just for HIm. He just waits and waits. Oh and the moment we call and want this time with HIm ..He just stops whatever He is doing and comes charging to us...anytime He is ready ..He is never too busy to spend time with His children but sadly we get too busy and forget that special time with Him. Then what happens?? He has to remove Himself from us and sometimes we dont even realise it until a real crisis comes..Like Samson in Judges 16:20

SHE SAID ,"THE PHILISTINES ARE UPON YOU SAMSON! "AND HE AWOKE OUT OF HIS SLEEP AND SAID," I WILL GO OUT AS I HAVE TIME AFTER TIME AND SHAKE MY SELF FREE. FOR SAMSON DID NOT KNOW THAT THE LORD HAD DEPARTED FROM HIM. BUT THE PHILISTINES LAID HOLE OF HIM BORED OUT HIS EYES AND BROUGHT HIM DOWN TO GAZA AND BOUND HIM WITH BRONZE FETTERS AND HE GROUND THE MILL IN THE PRISON."

You see that is what happens to us so often when we get too busy for God we end up in the prison again and it happens so quickly sometimes we are there before we even realise what has happened. I heard a message preached on the demon named"MR BUSY" that the devil sends to keep us from the Word and totally from God and where He wants us to be. This demon affects all our relationships and even our health physically and spiritually..we have to be careful not to fall in "Mr Busy's " traps by setting aside a time each day to have our quiet time with God and everything else will fall in place ...Just remember..

Matthew 6:33

BUT SEEK (AIM AT AND STRIVE AFTER) FIRST OF ALL HIS KINGDOM AND HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS ( HIS WAY OF DOING AND BEING RIGHT ) AND THEN ALL THESE THINGS TAKEN TOGETHER WILL BE GIVEN YOU BESIDES."

Wow!!! Isnt God's Word awesome!!!! I just get lost in it and never want to put it down when i pick it up and start digging..lots of gold nuggets in there ..cant ever find them all..

God Bless you

A very good word, indeed Mrs Irish!

I've been preaching this from the rooftops for years. It's such a subtle trap the enemy uses to get people distracted from what's really important. The bills must get paid, the dry cleaning has to be picked up, the groceries bought, the bank needs going to and we have to finish running all of our errands before we pick the kids up from their third extracurricular activity at school.

All of these things need to get done, no doubt, but when we plan our time with God around our chores and things that have to get done, we're going to struggle to find time with God and struggle through our day. If we plan our days around our time with God, we honor Him by giving Him priority and giving Him the first - and best - part of our day! I'm not saying our time with God has to be in the mornings, but if we will set aside a time of day - set in stone - then we are sure to have plenty of time for Him.

I have noticed a few things about planning my days around my time with God...

1. I always have time for Him.

2. When I have a specific, set apart time for God on a daily basis, I have found that God honors that and meets me at that time.

3. My days tend to go more smoothly because I tend to include Him throughout the day. My "quiet time" just spills over into the rest of my time.

4. People may think I'm making this up or that I'm nuts or something, but I'm telling you the truth... There seem to be enough hours in the day to get things done. Whether it's because including Him makes it go more smoothly or because He helps me see my priorities more clearly and I realize that everything doesn't have to be done at once...

My two main points are; Plan your days around your time with God and not the other way around. And don't let the devil trap you in the busy-ness of life that you lose focus of what's really important and why you're really here.

Thanks again, Mrs. Irish! Threads that discuss the Word in an encouraging way instead of debating theological hairs are my kind of threads!

What wonderful posts!

I agree wholeheartedly!

I think it is amazing the amount of time most Americans can spend in front of a tv or in front of a computer :lightbulb2: but then we say we don't have time to read the Bible, or pray, or help around the church. I think the way a person spends his/her time says a lot about priorities!!

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
