@Anne2 Thanks for the 'like'; it's remarkable how in the middle of the Minor Prophets some very familiar sounding verses can suddenly emerge from one's reading of them.......

I do love Malachi's little prophecy. :)

Chapter 3 verse 16 is very encouraging indeed:

"Then they that feared the Lord spake often one to another: and the Lord hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the Lord, and that thought upon his name."

Hi farouk,

That certainly is encouraging to know that those of Israel in the trib, will speak to each other of the Lord. He has His 2 witnesses who are telling them of His death, resurrection and ascension which they witnessed.

Also, we read that the Lord Himself will come to them. He had been purifying them for His coming.

`And the Lord whom you seek will suddenly come to His Temple, even the Messenger of the Covenant, in whom you delight. Behold He is coming, says the Lord of Hosts.

....He shall sit as a refiner of silver' He will purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer to the Lord as offering in righteousness.

Then the offering of Judah and Jerusalem will be pleasant to the Lord,...` (Mal. 3: 1 3 & 4)

....and to think that @Willa 's great-grandson is called Malachi! :)

Maybe it sounds like his parents though that a child growing up these days could be aptly named as a reminder that the Lord preserves His pilgrim remnant....

MALACHI 3:1
1Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me: and the Lord, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to his temple, even the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in: behold, he shall come, saith the LORD of hosts.

Isaiah 40:3
A voice of one calling:
“In the wilderness prepare
    the way for the Lord[a];
make straight in the desert
    a highway for our God.[b]

@Ps37 Yes, it seems to link well with Isaiah 40; and also its language is very similar to what is recorded about John the Baptist in the NT.
