Huge stretch for this to say anything concerning the millennial reign.

Normal interpretation would suggest that this is telling us that God owns it all.  He is not dependent on man at all.  If anything, we see God’s all-sufficient power in this claim.

I think they would try to make this claim because in order for their amillennial scheme to fit better they need to try to find some supposed Scriptural basis.

Hi @Shilohsfoal I guess it can be an encouragement to keep sowing the seed in Gospel activities meanwhile..........

Hello Gang,

...what of the 1st half or period.....is there a peace treaty or covenant to indicated it, is there some miraculous sign from heaven , how would christians know when it began?

 Clarence

Very important question.

God`s word tell us that the Day of the LORD, (God, Almighty for Judgment) begins when the northern army invades Israel. God deals with them and a Peace Treaty comes about.

In Greek and Hebrew the word Day, means - a period of time and a specific day.

Thus, in Joel 2: 1 we see that the Day of the LORD (in judgment) begins with the invading army.

Then in Zephaniah 1: 14 & 15 we read of that Day as a time of darkness, etc. That is the time period.

Then in Rev. 6: 12 - 17 we read of the specific Day when the Lord comes to deliver Israel and bring judgment upon the rebellious.

The Day of the Lord time period covers quite a lot - war, peace Treaty, judgments, ruling with a rod of iron, then, in which the heavens and earth melt, (2 Peter 3: 10)

So, for the believer when we see the northern armies coming down to Israel then we can look up for our redemption is nigh.

Marilyn.

Will those armies be armies that originate in the north or combined (allied) armies from diverse places that attack from the north?

God`s word tells us that they will be from the far north, (Russia) and the former USSR nations, (many people are with you, Ez. 38: 6) plus Persia, (Iran) Ethiopia, Libya. (v. 5)

The armed forces of the north occupy Israel for 42 months without invading. They already have an agreement with the Israeli government before they enter Israel.

After the norths armed forces have occupied Israel for 42 months, the beast from the abiss attacks and kills them .

Revelation 11

But the court which is without the temple leave out, and measure it not; for it is given unto the Gentiles: and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty and two months.

And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth.

These are the two olive trees, and the two candlesticks standing before the God of the earth.

And if any man will hurt them, fire proceedeth out of their mouth, and devoureth their enemies: and if any man will hurt them, he must in this manner be killed.

These have power to shut heaven, that it rain not in the days of their prophecy: and have power over waters to turn them to blood, and to smite the earth with all plagues, as often as they will.

And when they shall have finished their testimony, the beast that ascendeth out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them.

That doesn't take place til after the resurrection in Ezekiel 37 where Israel comes up out of their graves.

Ezekiel 38 is far into the future about 1000 years after the war of Armageddon.1000 years after Christ comes on the day of the Lord.
