Prayer Warrior

Hi All,

Had the excellent privilege of  being with prayer warriors last evening, 18 all told.  Gee have I ever missed that association, having been away from a local church body's home fellowship group(s) for a bit of time.

To look around the gathering,  a private home setting, one would think ah mostly retirees or  at least older couples doing just fine in life's secular America USA "necessities"; but as we share of updates and prayer  needs and praise to God,  it seems everyone  is facing  the kinds of turmoil we read about and see on TV and social media. The body of Christ Jesus is being ravaged just as is the unsaved world at large by the evil that is this world's plague.

Yet, there is hope and confidence in prayer, in faith of Jesus that sustains and also drives each  in the gathering to be the warrior God intends us to be. Our hope is certain  for it is placed in the faith of Jesus.

Distance and medical issues have been keeping me away from the local church body I have been called by the Holy Spirit to be part of, except by e-mail and text messaging ( And live streaming of services ).  While such modern conveniences are outstandingly useful, they are not the presence that  real up close association is. To be in formal worship services plus be in gatherings less formal makes  for a much fuller life experience than to have to rely  on the implements of today's oh so quick but limited communication technology alone.

Does make me try to speculate on  times past when writing was a skill for wordsmiths that took time to prepare, contemplate and then send by much slower means. A letter  say from Paul being a circular "news" letter that would be distributed in a circuit  between some rather large  but distant church bodies as example.

 Or a prayer need being shared with a loved one or church  body, might take weeks or months to  get distributed.  Now wow one can say the less well prepared thought and hit send before one can even reconsider and pray on it for a time of days.

Prayer warriors today have a job, perhaps a tough job, to stay focused on prayer, the task, the assignment, the mission. Pray to God, await His lead, all while in a world of less that 20 second thought patterns, and very very short attention spans.
