If we are not building off the foundation Jesus laid out, what are we doing?  Nothing good.

What does the foundation teach?  Through verse 20 I wrote it out in the GREEK order of words since I would be attaching definitions to them.  After that just went back to the King James.

If anyone bring any other doctrine, direct them back to the foundation.

Our current understanding of the meanings of words doesn't do JUSTICE to what we are really being taught.  We should at the very least have a clear understanding of that foundation. I have given a few of the words I found to be 'game changers' but suggest everyone look them up themselves to see all the ways they are used for deeper understanding.

I follow Isaiah 28, where we are told HOW to find GODS REST and the REFRESHING…in HIS WORDS and that is "precept on precept….".  If we don't and we allow everyone to go willy nilly all over the place false doctrines come from everywhere.  God is a God of law and order, so in order for us to be on the same page we have to start on the same page.  Once we all have the same foundation the discerning between what is right and what isn't, is much easier.

Matt 5.

1 Having seen then the crowds, He went up on the mountain and having sat down of Him came to Him the disciples of Him

2 And opening the mouth of Him, He was teaching them saying

See 2479 (isxys).

Js 5:15,16 (Gk text): "15And the prayer characterized by faith (4102 /pístis) will restore the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. If he has committed sins with present effects, it will be forgiven him. 16Therefore, openly confess these sins to one another, and pray for the benefit of one another, for the purpose of being supernaturally healed. Very combative (engaging, overcoming, 2480 /isxýō) is the specific (urgent) request of a divinely-approved person who is energized (by God)."

[Here the believer seeks to make petitions (1162 /déēsis) in faith – i.e. which are in accord with God's inbirthings (the persuasion of His will).]

THE CHURCH would be NO GOOD FOR THE PURPOSES OF GOD if it were removed from THE WORLD.  That would be like lighting a candle and covering it.  Is that one of Gods Ways?

2662. katapateó

Grimm on 1 Maccabees, p. 61 (where its use to denote desecration is illustrated); to spurn, treat with insulting neglect:

THE SALT IS TO BE CAST UPON THE EARTH.  THE SALT IS TO BE TRAMPLED ON.
IF IT ISN'T CAST OUT UNTO THE WORLD IT IS NO GOOD FOR ANYTHING.  SO, WHY WOULD GOD EVER 'REMOVE' THE SALT OF THE EARTH FOR ANY REASON, GIVEN THAT?   WE NEED TO USE COMMON SENSE.

IS THERE A TRIBULATION OR PERSECUTION OR AFFLICTION
TOO GREAT THAT WOULD CAUSE GOD TO CHANGE THE SALT being on the earth for any reason, FOR ANY INDIVIDUAL OR 'BODY'?  Not even of Himself was there too big a price...

THIS IS THE FOUNDATION we are given and I have never read ANYTHING to the contrary, except in the words of man.

14  You are the light of the world.  Not is able a city to be hidden on a hill lying

15  Nor do they light a lamp
and put it under a basket, but upon the lampstand and it shines for all those in the house

16 Thus let shine the light of you before men so that they may see your good works and they should glorify the Father of you in the heavens

So, would GOD put the LIGHT under a basket with a PRE TRIB RAPTURE OF THE LIGHT and the SALT of the world?  No, and when everything is stripped down to the basic foundation, it would never even be a thought one had.  And why I never had it.

17 Not think that I have come to abolish the law or the Prophets; not I have come to abolish but to fulfill.

As in classical Greek from Herodotus down, of institutions, forms of government, laws, etc., to deprive of force, annul, abrogate, discard: τόν νόμον, Matthew 5:17 (2 Macc. 2:22; Xenophon, mem. 4, 4, 14; Isocrates paneg. § 55; Philost. v., Apoll. 4, 40).

THE PROPHECIES were written in the Law and the Prophets but WITHOUT Him fulfilling/doing all the things written and spoken of Him of His first Advent, they would have been rendered NULL AND VOID rather than having PROVEN all of it.

18 Truly for I say to you until shall pass away the heaven (Singular) and the earth, iota one or one stroke of a letter no not shall pass away from the law, until EVERYTHING should happen.

We see the temple in the Lords Day and the priests performing their duties so we know not until AFTER the GWTJ, COULD the Old Test go anywhere by that alone.

How were the FIRST Jews and Gentiles TAUGHT by Paul?
Through the LAW AND THE PROPHETS.  How should the LAST CHRISTIANS 'come to faith'?  Same

19 Whoever if then shall break one of the commandments of these the least and shall teach so the others, he will be called in the kingdom of the heavens;
whoever now shall KEEP and shall teach, this great will be called in the kingdom of the heavens.

20  I say for to you that
if not shall abound your righteousness above [that] of the scribes and Pharisees, no not shall you enter into the kingdom of the heavens (Plural)

Those are some of the blessings and first 'commandments' given by Jesus.  This is our FOUNDATION we are to build upon and no other.
We have to BE CAREFUL HOW we build upon this foundation because a 'FIRE' is coming to PROVE it

Cognate: 3471 mōraínō(from 3474 /mōrós) – dull, sluggish ("without an edge"); (figuratively) acting "stupid or silly," "insipid, flat." . . . "to play the fool" (WS, 30). See 3474 (mōros).

STRONGS NT 3471: μωραίνω

μωραίνω: 1 aorist ἐμωρανα; 1 aorist passive ἐμωράνθην; (μωρός);

1. in classical Greek to be foolish, to act foolishly.

2. in Biblical Greek a. to make foolish: passive Romans 1:22 (Isaiah 19:11; Jeremiah 10:14; 2 Samuel 24:10); equivalent to to prove a person or thing to be foolish: τήν σοφίαν τοῦ κόσμου, 1 Corinthians 1:20 (τήν βουλήν αὐτῶν, Isaiah 44:25).

b. to make flat and tasteless: passive of salt that has lost its strength and flavor, Matthew 5:13; Luke 14:34.

233. halizó

Strong's Concordance

halizó: to salt

Original Word: ἁλίζω

Part of Speech: Verb

Transliteration: halizó

Phonetic Spelling: (hal-id'-zo)

Definition: to salt

Usage: I salt, sprinkle with salt (of sacrifices or of those who offer sacrifice), keep fresh and sound, and so acceptable to God.

HELPS Word-studies

Cognate: 233 halízō – to apply salt (make salty). See 217 (halas).

 2480. ischuó ►

Strong's Concordance

ischuó: to be strong, have power

Original Word: ἰσχύω

Part of Speech: Verb

Transliteration: ischuó

Phonetic Spelling: (is-khoo'-o)

Definition: to be strong, have power

Usage: I have strength, am strong, am in full health and vigor, am able; meton: I prevail.

HELPS Word-studies

Cognate: 2480 isxýō – properly, embodied strength that "gets into the fray" (action), i.e. engaging the resistance. For the believer, 2480 (isxýō) refers to the Lord strengthening them with combative, confrontive force to achieve all He gives faith for. That is, facing necessary resistance that brings what the Lord defines is success (His victory, cf. 1 Jn 5:4). Accordingly, faith (4102 /pístis) and 2480 (isxýō) are directly connected (Js 5:16).

2662. katapateó

Strong's Concordance

katapateó: to tread down

Original Word: καταπατέω

Part of Speech: Verb

Transliteration: katapateó

Phonetic Spelling: (kat-ap-at-eh'-o)

Definition: to tread down

Usage: I trample down, trample under foot (lit. and met.), spurn.

STRONGS NT 2662: καταπατέω

καταπατέω, καταπάτω; future καταπατήσω (Matthew 7:6 L T Tr WH); 1 aorist κατεπάτησα; passive, present καταπατοῦμαι; 1 aorist κατεπατήθην; "to tread down (see κατά, III. 1), trample under foot": τί and τινα, Matthew 5:13; Matthew 7:6; Luke 8:5; Luke 12:1 (Herodotus and following; the Sept.); metaphorically, like the Latinconculco, to trample on equivalent to to treat with rudeness and insult, 2 Macc. 8:2, etc.; cf.

Part of Speech: Verb

HELPS Word-studies

Cognate: 4137 plēróō (from plērēs, "be full," see 4130 /plḗthō) – properly, fill to individual capacity, i.e. to the extent it is "meet" (appropriate). See 4130 (plēthō).

Same

19 Whoever if then shall break one of the commandments of these the least and shall teach so the others, he will be called in the kingdom of the heavens;
whoever now shall KEEP and shall teach, this great will be called in the kingdom of the heavens.

Thanks I would offer another way of searching that out .It would be what I would call one of the "think not" doctrines. think not  used three times in the bible.. .

Don't even think of it . . .or off to your room. . .  alone no electronics ? LOL

The unbelieving Jew  trusting in the temporal things seen. Dead flesh of dying mankind.. . communing with dead relatives under the legion of gods "Satan" that works in many deceivers false prophets, false apostles  as the one father of lies .

In the likeness of dying mankind today some call patron saints. .officially 3,500 and rising . . .clearly denying the one manner our one Holy Father in heaven and  not a legion  of fathers as patron saints . They as it seems replace our one Father with the Pope a dayaman  spoken of in Job 9.

Abraham,  having him as if it was him we commune  with and not our unseen Holy Father  . Jesus said. .  call no man on earth holy father , let alone a legion

Jesus in effect said if he wanted to he could use lively stones to build his spiritual  unseen house of God. .  the church . Its a matter of Christ law of faith. .   faith declaring. . . . "let there be" and the foundation is laid we can having the privilege, build it on the gospel, not mankind seen .

Matthew 3:9 And think not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, that God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham.

In parables . .  Abraham is used to represent the Bosom or presence of God or called the "cloud of witness" by day and night. (Exodus a picture or parable of salvation) ) . It is the eternal, the Holy Father of all the nations of the world . . . giving meaning to the new born again name Abraham . . .father of a multitude of nations  changing it from Abram . . . exalted father of one nation . . .  His own family

Obey . .the loving commandment   "think not" to worship the flesh ....He gives us the power to "think not" and  power to "let the mind of Christ" do its good work of salvation yoked with him our daily bread the burden is lighter with a living hope beyond ones last breath .

1 Peter 2:5 Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.

I sure wish I could jump into your head to understand all that was given here...  Did you try to fit 10 pages into a couple paragraphs?

I'll have to read it a few more times see if I can follow....but no clue as to

Sorry, I did try and offer much information .(poor writing skills)

Isaiah 28 as you offered is a good foundation or commentary to learn how to "mix faith" the unseen power of God mixed with the temporal things seen as a way of entering His eternal rest .. our daily bread . We cannot see the rest  but if we do His will  we acknowledge we have been strengthened giving glory to God

Mixed with (cemented )would be the understanding of the building blocks or bricks of faith.

Isaiah 28 mocks those who mock Him those who build upon flesh and blood what the eyes see.(themselves) comparing themself to there own self, worshipping  each others dying flesh as fools  No other foundation can be built other than sola scriptura the word of God .

2 Corinthians 10:12 For we dare not make ourselves of the number, or compare ourselves with some that commend themselves: but they measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise.   (no mixing of faith, no bond of love. )

You could say it is the faith of Christ's labor of love that does build us up in that labor of love. Love comes along side and forgives .

His glory encompasses his fortress. . prepared for his bride.. . .lively stones. .

Colossians 2:7 Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.

No mixing as a labor of love no gospel rest . In that way we have the rest of our lives to learn .He finishes what he starts (Philippians 1:6) Let there be . . . and it was very good

Hebrews 4 King James Version Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it. For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.

Mixing formula for the cement that binds love . .

RED. . .  eternal

GREEN. . .  temporal

DEAD . . . .

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
