I don't like the internet, but I sure am glad it's here, so I can research all of the medical stuff, and all of the stuff I hear all day long in the background, or when I'm downstairs, and can form my own opinion about things I am not even interested in in the first place, only to have my baby boomer mother dig in here heels and not do her own internet research, and remain further in the pocket of mainstream media, and further gripe about the internet at the same time.

Btw, I was flat out almost forbidden by her, to not ever do my own research about medical things. Flat out almost forbidden.

I don't like texting, because people and the law take it about as seriously as a phone call, or someone showing up at your house unannounced. There is no deciphering the difference between speaking out loud, and written word. Not anymore, there's not.

As my photo shows, I love ice cream. Saints here call me the "ice cream brother" because I always bring copious amounts to our monthly potlucks.  (BTW - never been a huge fan of homemade ice cream, at least not the way my bro-in-law's family always makes it . . .)

And since I know you'd ask, my fav ice cream is Cherry Garcia.

Ice cream was a thing among a group of us from the fellowship for a while.

As for myself, I'm a fan of chocolate ice cream. I rarely indulge in ice cream these days... I'm so cheap that I squeak, and cheap ice cream isn't worth it. :39:

I don't like Judeo Christian societies, but I do like Jesus, and I do read the Bible, and I do understand a lot of it, and from my own actual paper back, leather bound, and hard cover Bible reading, I understand anyway, that I am justified in feeling this way. I will not, not go to church, nor avoid the judeo Christian things and country, though.

It wasn't until later in life, years after I had escaped their house, that my father told me why he kept things like pickled pigs feet in the fridge:

Because it gave my mother fits.

It was also why he would shave his head over a garbage can in the garage. What did he say?

"It's all gray anyway, and it grows back. Why pay someone else to deal with it?"

I couldn't argue with his logic. He changed, but my mother never did. I'm thankful to the Lord for giving my father to me, pickled pig's feet and all. He was a nut.

Brussel sprouts may well be evil incarnate.

Cooked beet roots are worse. Brussel sprouts are edible if forced to eat, with your nose closed and a bunch of apple sauce on it, but beet roots eeww I still remember the taste from ages ago. We had to eat all that cause it was healthy.

I guess I'm weird. My wife and I fight over them.
She steams them in butter and lemon juice.
Add salt, delicious...

She never liked spinach till I had her plant some in the garden. She ask how she should cook them and I said steam them in butter etc. She tried it herself.
Viola, loves it and now we have spinach in everything, and I mean everything.
Variety if the spice of life.

Oh, if you like Brussel sprouts have you eaten fried cabbage? oh so good, and easier than Brussel sprouts, but similar flavor. I like pickled pigs feet as well. I like the gristle, more than the meat.

I've had fried cabbage. Excellent. I'm a fan of cabbage dishes in general, and Korean kimchi ranks high on my list.

I've grown cabbage as well. :)
