Cultural icons ( politics, fashion, beliefs) are very pervasive in all Societies. America is a very passionate issue. ( New Zealand? Australia, Denmark ET) Passion is emotions. Emotions are a result of conditioning. What we find passionate can sometimes wield a sword with the passion. Who are we as a Body of believers in Jesus? What is the work of the disciples of Christ? Is it to put bread on the table, or to become the image of God in the world? Is it to enlist ourselves in the service of a steadily increasing standard of living, or is it to bring the grace, mercy, and peace of God to life in the world? Is it to take our place, shoulder to shoulder, alongside those whose primary motive and goal is to buy, spend, amass and consume, or is it to

The world glorifies it self with the Oscars, so the church has the Dove awards,(Jam 4:16 But now ye rejoice in your boastings: all such rejoicing is evil.

What is evil about the Dove awards? Please provide Scriptural reference! What is wrong with awarding God-given talent?

The world has Disneyland, the church has TBN fun world. The world has it's famous entertainers, and the groupies. So does the church. Christian aerobics, diets, artist, foods, Et...Thus it is the American version of Christianity, A subculture of Americanism. An obvious apostasy. .

I might actually agree with you on TBN, lol! Do pray tell what is wrong with aerobics, diets, foods, etc.? Are we not to do the most with the life God has given us? Don't you think God would have us healthy so as to be able to spread His message? Or should we all sit around on our do-nothings dying of heart attacks at 45 or 50 years old? Sorry, I don't see the apostasy here either.

Less we forget, one can buy there way into Heaven for 10% of there gross income.

Ronald, the scripture is in the post. My caps button has a mind of it's own sometimes.

Matthew 6:24,recorded Jesus as saying"No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

Matthew again reminds us of the importance of seeking, and serving only Jesus in 10:37"He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me."

I live in America. I was born here. I have no allegiance though. Just a place.I belong to YHSHWH-GOD, only.

My citizenship is in heaven. I am a soljurner here. This is our "apprenticeship", for eternity. Litterally. This Nation will fall, as all Kingdoms of the flesh have fallen.

The Dove awards is another venue of the "sub-culture" of "churchianity". Dove Awards give glory to man.

Never heard Benny Hinn say "you are accursed" if you do not tithe"?

No one said evil. Only you.

If my message "turns you off from following "Christ", then you possibly you acribe to the "churchy" ways anyway. As the issues raised, are not of YHSHWH-GOD (Jesus).

No one can turn any true believer from Jesus. Impossible.

Because it is not them who believes, but HE who is in them that really has the faith.

Holy Spirit draws us. We cannot draw to HIM. He draws us.

After HE draws us, we draw to HIM.
