I had seen them giving new testaments on bus stop to everyone passing by, they receive and throw the new testaments on the road or toilet and leave. I have seen packets of these new testaments in Pastors houses, because Gideos provide them and they keep it at home. Gospels about Jesus and the other books have good instruction for the Christian life. The Old Testament would be more for people already Christians....a lot of history and heavier content.
