Early this week I was thanking God for His love, His shed blood, and His indwelling.  Then I realized that this is none other than the Triune God!  The Father loves us - the Son shed His blood for us - the Spirit now indwells us!  So when I read this below devotional today it resonated that this is the Father's love to us - sending the Spirit of His Son right into us, to be one with our spirit, in order that He might do the inner operation of His "willing and working for His good pleasure!" (Phil 2:13) And what is His good pleasure?  To have this wonderful, intimate relationship with us, transform us and bring "many sons to glory!" (Heb 2:10)

HALLELUJAH what a Spirit!!!

:applaudit::yeah::spot_on:

Love in His loving

"And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying out, Abba, Father!" Galatians 4:6

The love of God is now in the Holy Spirit. It is concentrated there. This love is being dispensed into us, poured out in us, through the Holy Spirit. So when we speak about the love-life of the bride, we are not speaking about natural energy that tries to work up a love for God. We are talking about relaxing and resting in a poured-out love that already exists in our spirits and hearts. All we have to do is give voice to it. Just give voice to it a little bit. Echo it. Praise in His praising! Sing in His singing! Love in His loving!

To have the Spirit of the Son in our hearts crying out, "Abba, Father" seems somewhat objective. It seems that we need to put a stethoscope up to our heart and listen for an "Abba, Father." But when Romans 8:15 says, "You have received a spirit of sonship in which we cry out, Abba! Father!" (NASV), it becomes subjective in our experience. Who is crying "Abba, Father"? The Son in our hearts or we in our spirits? By putting Galatians 4:6 together with Romans 8:15, we can see that there is one crying and also one loving. He cries in our crying, He loves in our loving. In our crying, it is Him. In our loving, it is Him. It is Him crying, loving, worshipping, and saying "Abba." By this we see that there is one love, and this one marvelous love poured out in our hearts is what we are giving voice to.

Call it "devotion-speak". It's here to stay. There's a syndicated contributor on our Christian radio network who promotes her segment as "Chocolate and God". One wag of an announcer followed her by-line with the remark, "I'd like some ice cream too."

I suppose it is. Likely always has been. I find I am a bit of a meat and potatoes Christian. Don't sell me God is my comfort teddy bear. I need meat and potatoes, and a "clear call to me", not sing song melodies on a teddy's pull string. Can't be standing my post and playing with a teddy bear.

A little harshly put by me I suppose (Sorry 'bout that), but I find God's word does not need a rewriting. As Joe Friday would say on the old USA TV program Dragnet, "Give us just the facts ma'm, just the facts".

How's this - "God is in Christ to be my supply.  God as the Spirit nourishes me.  If upon Christ in Spirit I feed, filled with His life I'll be!"  (from a song)

"He who eats Me will live because of Me . . . on hearing it, many of His disciples said,

'This is a difficult teaching. Who can accept it?' . . . Jesus asked them, 'Does this offend you?'"

John 6:57-59

Offend? No.

However: I am finding there to be so many many explanations of the word of God that are just so much word salad with little credit being given by the salad makers  in the ability of others to understand the rather clear word of God as enabled in understanding through the HolySpirit.

There so often  appears, to me anyway, to be greater love of the salad and the making of it, than there is for the meat of the actual word.  The various presentations ( Yes including so many so called devotions) almost become like entries in a contest of who can add the most extraneous commentary to the straight forward presentation of the Bible as can possibly  be thought up.

The word really doesn't any need side salad, IMO.

Ahh, I feel better for having got that off my chest. LOL. Thanks for tolerating me.

I don't just tolerate you, bro - I love you!

And it's a big . . . I mean BIG feast, with so many ways the Living Bread can be prepared.  Some of us like southern cooking; some like French; some like Cajun, some want a side of cowboy beans, but as long as it's all Christ, it's all good!

Lord help us when around those type! They can get really loud in their declarations, and I don't mean vociferous.

Did I say that?

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
