I opened the Daily Light devotional this morning, and it was all verses about us human beings becoming a dwelling place for God Himself!  Oh what a grand mystery and revelation this is, and may He open our eyes to truly see what He intends for us and the purpose we're being transformed for! (we need such a magnificent vision to control our thoughts & actions)

The house to be built for the Lord must be exceedingly magnificent.

You … as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house. § Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? If anyone defiles the temple of God, God will destroy him. For the temple of God is holy, which temple you are. § Your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own. For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s. § What agreement has the temple of God with idols? For you are the temple of the living God. As God has said: “I will dwell in them and walk among them. I will be their God, and they shall be My people.” § [You] having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief cornerstone, in whom the whole building, being fitted together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord, in whom you also are being built together for a dwelling place of God in the Spirit.

1 Chron. 22:5; 1 Peter 2:5; 1 Cor. 3:16–17; 6:19–20; 2 Cor. 6:16; Eph. 2:19–22

Plus we can add to this the wonderful verses showing the culmination of this reality at the end of Revelation with the New Jerusalem.

A mystery that a child can understand. Ask First.

John 15:

7 If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you,

you will ask what you desire,

and it shall be done for you.

By this My Father is glorified,

that you bear much fruit;

so you will be My disciples.

The fruit of the Spirit in this age translates us into

the glorious inheritance of the Son in the Age to come.

Yes, a mystery is only so to those not sharing His life, i.e., His children.  But to us is made known through our one Spirit.

Did you ever wonder why so few books are around on the topic of man being the dwelling place of God and God's living house? Tons and tons of Christian things available on so many topics, but this one - so much on God's heart - is hard to find......

I think many people don't like to look in the mirror.  The thought of having a clean and suitable temple for God to live in can be scary.  Excuses will be made for "I'm not good enough, perfect enough, worthy enough." when all we have to do is take that first humble step and invite Him in.

This is a great topic to use in witnessing because none of us are perfect by our own efforts and works.

Yes, it's very obvious that His house cannot be built by our might or power, but only by His Spirit!  Once again, it's not I, but Christ - Jesus is the one who said, "I will build."  The moment we think it's us that can do something, we start to build with wood, hay & stubble (unworthy flammable materials).

The revelation of the house of God in much of Christianity, I think, gets at least somewhat distorted through various common practices and traditional habits of speaking.  This includes things like referring to a building as "the house of God" and saying such things like, "I was in the Lord's house."

And my fav pet peeve with translating the Greek word "ekklesia" as "church" when it really means "called-out assembly,"  does nothing to further the idea that it's the human beings and not the structure.  (and ironically enough, the etymology of "church" does actually pertain more to the physical property!)  And I think when most people say, "I went to church" they are usually talking about the brick & mortar structure . . . at least they don't really seem to discern the meaning much. I know some say they do mean the people/congregation when they say "church," but that doesn't negate the fact that the word is just a really poor word that the KJV translators decided upon.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
