2 Corinthians 11:

1 Oh, that you would bear with me in a little folly—

and indeed you do bear with me.

2 For I am jealous for you with godly jealousy.

For I have betrothed you to one husband,

that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.

3 But I fear, lest somehow, as the serpent deceived

Eve by his craftiness, so your minds may be corrupted

from the simplicity that is in Christ.

Paul now insists that we apply this knowledge to

maintaining doctrinal purity by the simplicity

that is in Christ.

Two words spell this out,  deceived and craftiness,

and by one we overcome: simplicity.

Romans 16:

17 Now I beseech you, brethren,

mark them which cause divisions and offences

contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned;

and avoid them.

18 For they that are such serve not our Lord

Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and

by good words and fair speeches

deceive the hearts of the simple.

Be wary of clever oratory found to be

popular and rooted in worldly wisdom.

1 Corinthians 3:

18 Let no one deceive himself.

If anyone among you seems to be wise in this age,

let him become a fool that he may become wise.

19 For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God.

For it is written,

“He catches the wise in their own craftiness”;

20 and again, “The Lord knows the thoughts

of the wise, that they are futile.”

So we find the fruit of all deception

was partaken of in the garden.

Genesis 3:

6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good

for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes,

and a tree to be desired to make one wise,

she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat,

and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.

In simplicity, manifest truth in speaking.

2 Corinthians 4:

1 Therefore, since we have this ministry,

as we have received mercy, we do not lose heart.

2 But we have renounced the hidden things of shame,

not walking in craftiness nor handling

the word of God deceitfully, but by

manifestation of the truth commending ourselves

to every man’s conscience in the sight of God.

Striving for a pure doctrine

Ephesians 4:

14 That we henceforth be no more children,

tossed to and fro, and carried about with every

wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and

cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;

15 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up

into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ.

Without simplicity, the Grace of God is frustrated

2 Corinthians 1:

12 For our rejoicing is this, the testimony of our conscience,

that in simplicity and godly sincerity, not with fleshly wisdom,

but by the grace of God, we have had our conversation

in the world, and more abundantly to you-ward.

All those who discredit the importance of sound

doctrine are already deceived.

Christ the Power and Wisdom of God

1 Corinthians 1:

18 For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing,

but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.

19 For it is written:

“I will destroy the wisdom of the wise,
And bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.”

20 Where is the wise? Where is the scribe?

Where is the disputer of this age?

Has not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?

21 For since, in the wisdom of God, the world

through wisdom did not know God,

it pleased God through the foolishness of the message

preached to save those who believe

26 For you see your calling, brethren, that not many wise

according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called.

27 But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame

the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put

to shame the things which are mighty;

28 and the base things of the world and the things which are despised

God has chosen, and the things which are not, to bring to nothing

the things that are,

29 that no flesh should glory in His presence.

A circumcised heart evidenced by sound doctrine

Jeremiah 9:23 Thus says the Lord:

Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom,
Let not the mighty man glory in his might,
Nor let the rich man glory in his riches;
24 But let him who glories glory in this,
That he understands and knows Me,

That I am the Lord, exercising lovingkindness, judgment,

and righteousness in the earth. For in these I delight,” says the Lord.

25 Behold, the days are coming, says the Lord, that I will punish all who are circumcised with the uncircumcised— 26 Egypt, Judah, Edom, the people of Ammon, Moab, and all who are in the farthest corners, who dwell in the wilderness. For all these nations are uncircumcised, and all the house of Israel are uncircumcised in the heart.

So where do find craftiness, or subtly?

Genesis 3:

1 Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field

which the Lord God had made. And he said to the woman,

“Has God indeed said, ‘You shall not eat of every tree of the garden’?”

2 And the woman said to the serpent,

“We may eat the fruit of the trees of the garden;

3 but of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden,

God has said, ‘You shall not eat it, nor shall you touch it, lest you die.’ ”

4 Then the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die.

5 For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened,

and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”

The words used in the narrative to describe

the temptation are very straightforward.

The subtlety is revealed in the methodology.

2 Corinthians 2:11 Lest Satan should get an advantage of us:

for we are not ignorant of his devices.

Sadly sound doctrine is over for just about all..

2 Timothy 4:3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

For many . . . yes . . . but  . . . there are Christians (an remnant) who DO read their Bibles and weigh everything said from the pulpits (in and out of the assemblies) with the Bible, whether it be the culture we live in, OR the men/women who are in Christian leadership positions with the Bible. Sure .. . we may at times not get everything right but the Holy Spirit will illuminate the Word that we read and give us correction when needed (IF we remain teachable). We should be like the Bereans who searched the scriptures to determine if the word preached (by churches and secular culture around us) is aligned with those scriptures.

Personally . . . I am teachable . . . but Not Gullible.

The time has come when they will not endure sound doctrine..

2 Timothy 4:3 For the time will come when THEY will not endure sound doctrine.

THEY is not some, it can only be all, or it is telling nothing, and could be worded as you reword it, to be a remnant.

Also if anyone was not the remnant, they NEVER could endure sound doctrine, so that would not make sense, according to what is described here. The only possible understanding remaining is that the time came for a DIFFERENCE, when men who previously did NOT HEAR TEACHERS WITH ITCHING EARS, now have done this..

2 Timothy 4:4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

Next, you can follow the other scriptures, of WHY THIS HAS COME TO PASS to TURN THEM ALL FROM THE TRUTH...

2 Peter 2:1 But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.2 And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.3 And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.

2 Peter 2:18 For when they speak great swelling words of vanity, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through much wantonness, those that were clean escaped from them who live in error.
19 While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage.
20 For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.
21 For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.

This is the Gentiles after the fullness have been received.

At that time blindness will be removed from natural Israel,

and they will all accept sound doctrine.

You appear like you want to learn, as you quote one area of scripture and how fitting to compliment that with the other verses that interpret what you think is told in Romans 11.

Pay attention anyone reading, because it is not wise to believe in the false prophets who were predicted at the ending of the world, and so many heresies brought in.

Isaiah 29 testifies, Jacob would not be ashamed, Jacob is of the same promise of eternal life, as his father Isaac and his father Abraham, to whom the promises were given from God. ( of eternal life)

The Lord redeemed Abraham, concerning the HOUSE OF JACOB, for them to sanctify the name of the Lord, and they that erred in spirit come to understanding, and learn doctrine. ( before all reject sound doctrine now)

Isaiah 29 also describes in that day the meek increase their joy in the Lord. The scorners are consumed. The terrible one ( who are NOT THE REMNANT.)  is BROUGHT TO NOTHING, 1 Corinthians 1, shows this is done, WHERE IS THE DISPUTER OF THIS WORLD/the SCORNER ?

Christ crucified is preached, this is a stumbling block to the Jews, but unto the Jews which are called it is the wisdom of God. Those who are called/chosen are the foolish to confound the wise, the weak to confound the mighty, the base and despised God has chosen, to bring TO NOTHING/BROUGHT TO NOTHING, those that are. ( THAT NO FLESH GLORIES IN HIS PRESENSE.)

Isaiah 10 first tells, of the REMNANT of Israel that are escaped of the HOUSE OF JACOB, to stay upon the Lord, the Holy One of Israel, in truth. The REMNANT returns, EVEN THE REMNANT OF JACOB, unto the mighty God.

Isaiah 10:20 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the remnant of Israel, and such as are escaped of the house of Jacob, shall no more again stay upon him that smote them; but shall stay upon the Lord, the Holy One of Israel, in truth.
21 The remnant shall return, even the remnant of Jacob, unto the mighty God.
22 For though thy people Israel be as the sand of the sea, yet a remnant of them shall return: the consumption decreed shall overflow with righteousness.

Isaiah 29:18 And in that day shall the deaf hear the words of the book, and the eyes of the blind shall see out of obscurity, and out of darkness.
19 The meek also shall increase their joy in the Lord, and the poor among men shall rejoice in the Holy One of Israel.
20 For the terrible one is brought to nought, and the scorner is consumed, and all that watch for iniquity are cut off:

Isaiah 29:22 Therefore thus saith the Lord, who redeemed Abraham, concerning the house of Jacob, Jacob shall not now be ashamed, neither shall his face now wax pale.
23 But when he seeth his children, the work of mine hands, in the midst of him, they shall sanctify my name, and sanctify the Holy One of Jacob, and shall fear the God of Israel.
24 They also that erred in spirit shall come to understanding, and they that murmured shall learn doctrine.

1 Corinthians 11:20 Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?

1 Corinthians 1:23 But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness;
24 But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.

1 Corinthians 1:27 But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;
28 And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are:
29 That no flesh should glory in his presence.

We can understand it has all come to pass, its easily understood, but just for the disputers, there is more.

We heard in Isaiah 29, that the Lord redeemed Abraham concerning the house of Jacob.

The house of Jacob spoke lies against the Lord, though He had redeemed them.

God takes away in that day those who rejoice in their pride, ( THAT NO FLESH GLORIES IN HIS PRESENSE/they that are are BROUGHT TO NOTHING.) and because of His Holy mountain ( Christ on earth) they are no more haughty, as the Lord leaves in the house of Jacob an afflicted and poor people, ( by the preaching of the cross.) the remnant do not do iniquity, nor speak lies..

Hosea 7:13 Woe unto them! for they have fled from me: destruction unto them! because they have transgressed against me: though I have redeemed them, yet they have spoken lies against me.

Zephaniah 3:11 In that day shalt thou not be ashamed for all thy doings, wherein thou hast transgressed against me: for then I will take away out of the midst of thee them that rejoice in thy pride, and thou shalt no more be haughty because of my holy mountain.
12 I will also leave in the midst of thee an afflicted and poor people, and they shall trust in the name of the Lord.
13 The remnant of Israel shall not do iniquity, nor speak lies; neither shall a deceitful tongue be found in their mouth: for they shall feed and lie down, and none shall make them afraid.

If the scorners need more info, there is more.

The remnant of Israel, was according to the time of apostle Paul. That is the election, but Israel ( not the remnant) abides in unbelief.

So all Israel shall be saved. ( blindness was on Israel who abides in unbelief.)

But the word of God had EFFECT. They are NOT ALL ISRAEL WHICH ARE OF ISRAEL

In Isaac the seed is called, ( though the children of Israel be as the sand of the sea, a remnant shall be saved.) that is, the children of the flesh ( the children of Israel cut off, and not the remnant saved) are not the children of God, the children of the promise are counted for the seed.

The called/chosen of the Jews and Gentiles, are the vessels to glory, the vessels fitted to destruction do not know ( blind) the riches of His glory..

Romans 11:5 Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace.
6 And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then it is no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.
7 What then? Israel hath not obtained that which he seeketh for; but the election hath obtained it, and the rest were blinded.
8 (According as it is written, God hath given them the spirit of slumber, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear;) unto this day.

Romans 11:23 And they also, if they abide not still in unbelief, shall be grafted in: for God is able to graft them in again.
24 For if thou wert cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature, and wert grafted contrary to nature into a good olive tree: how much more shall these, which be the natural branches, be grafted into their own olive tree?
25 For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.
26 And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:

Romans 9:6 Not as though the word of God hath taken none effect. For they are not all Israel, which are of Israel:
7 Neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, are they all children: but, In Isaac shall thy seed be called.
8 That is, They which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed.

Romans 9:22 What if God, willing to shew his wrath, and to make his power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction:
23 And that he might make known the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy, which he had afore prepared unto glory,
24 Even us, whom he hath called, not of the Jews only, but also of the Gentiles?

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
