ugh so like yesterday and the day before i got a wisdom tooth on each side of my bottom teeth. you can feel the top ones but no break through as of yet. IT HURTS SOOO BAD!!! Anyways, mom is making an appointment with a new dentist since I hate the one I have now and maybe just maybe but I highly doubt I will get in tomorrow. And then of course will be the appointment with the oral surgeon to cut these stupid things out.....ewwww. Have I mentioned I HATE going to the dentist? Ugh I cannot do tastes, textures, smells, sounds.....and I have a really really bad gag reflux and have thrown up many times. I really need prayer....but the only way I will open my mouth is if I am under general anesthetic....lol and I am serious! So if you have your wisdom teeth out, I want all the details from that morning on to recovery. thanks

It isn't fun. It took me about a week to completely recover - but I got all four out at once. They gave me a pretty powerful pain killer which I didn't want to try at first...I tried taking Ibuprofen first, but it didn't even dent the pain...I was crying the six hours that I had to wait to take the pain killers that worked. In any case, I didn't have to take the powerful stuff past the day after they got taken out - but I had chipmunk cheeks (swelling) and couldn't open my mouth all the way until the end of the week. I could eat regular food after two days, just had to be really careful. It will take a while, but I guarantee after a week you'll probably be back to normal mostly.

I was 17 and had all four wisdom teeth taken out. I was put to sleep for the surgery so I don't remember much of that. The gauze in my mouth was the worst part of the whole thing. I forget how long I had to leave the gauze in, but once I removed it. I had no problems. I had painpills for a few days, only took them the first day, didn't need them afterwards. Oh, and then there's eating. Well, I don't remember having trouble eating. My mother made mushy food for me, stuff I didn't have to chew. All in all, it was no big deal, really. I did swell up tho', I looked like a chipmonk. But that soon went down too. I think, if I were you, I'd ask for all four to be removed at once. Get it done and over with. Otherwise, in two years you'll need it again for the remaining two wisdom teeth.

in Him;

corey

I had two wisdom teeth removed when I was in college, 20 years ago. I now have to have the other two removed this coming January. This surgery is something they knock you out for. At least they used to. If the dentist tries to come at me with a mere needle full of novacane, I intend to grab him by the scruff of the shirt, yank him down to the level of the chair and growl, "You.... WILL.... knock.... me.....OUT!" :noidea:

Can I make one suggestion here? Don't listen to other people's horror stories about wisdom teeth. It only serves to increase your fear and make you think the worst. I had all four out many years ago. They were all impacted but it was a very nice experience. It wasn't at all as bad as people say. The best part of it was that I got to eat applesauce and sherbet for a couple of days and then that was the end of it. Pray, stop worrying and trust in God.

Hi cutiepie,

I can relate to your gag reflex! Try focusing on a spot on the wall and repeating something in your head like, "Lord Jesus I trust in You", over and over, to get your mind off the gagging. Or focus on the Passion of Jesus; replay it in your mind, and compare what you are going thru with what He went thru. It gives you a little perspective. Offer your pain to Him.

I had 2 wisdom teeth removed over 20 years ago---when techniques were not nearly as good as they are now. I was awake and received only Novacaine. I didn't feel a thing, and it healed quickly with minimal pain.

It makes a difference if they are impacted--mine were not.

In any case, they give you pain meds---use them. And if they are not effective enough, call your dentist.

You'll be fine. Millions of people have gone thru this.

And I'm sure your mommy will give you plenty of TLC. :t2:

Love,

Fiosh

I remember when I had my wisdom teeth out. One was infected and had to be pulled out because the gum was starting to rot around it (ewww!). It came out no problem. My other three were all impacted and deeply embedded and were taken out by a specialist. They put me under with IV (Dental Assistant "Count to ten backwards, when you reach 5, you will feel yourself going under" me: "10, 9..." and I was out), apparently all went well, and for the next 48 hours I was wired and couldn't sleep and felt no pain and the Tylonal 3s they gave me did absolutely nothing (I have a high drug tolerance... except to the IV they used) and there was no swelling and no indication to others that i had my wisdom teeth out.

I guess I was blessed.

Cuteiepie, hopefully yours go twice as good as mine, and that you are actually able to sleep comfortably when it is all done!

Oh, and see if you can keep your teeth... (if you are into that sort of thing)

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
