Psalm 32:8 I will instruct you and teach you

in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye.

Interesting how modern translators change the meaning.

NASB

8 I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you should go;
I will advise you with My eye upon you
.

This simply suggests, "God is watching over you",

when the clear implication of the Hebrew is that

we must employ His Eye, His Light to discern Truth,

to "separate Light from the darkness".

Luke 11:34 The light of the body is the eye: therefore

when thine eye is single, thy whole body also is full of light;

but when thine eye is evil, thy body also is full of darkness.

This is to have the mind of Christ, to walk a True Way.

This is where knowledge of God's Word is essential.

Psalm 119:105 Your word is a lamp to my feet
And a light to my path.

Isaiah 8:20 To the law and to the testimony:

if they speak not according to this word,

it is because there is no light in them.

1 John 5:20 And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us an understanding, that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life.

To be given “an understanding”; Greek dianoia: “a way to understand” means that The Logos, the Son of God is the lens through which we view life and rightly comprehend His intent. He has “given us insight”, a clear heart vision to reflect our minds upon and know “the true God and eternal life”. To have inspired comprehension. (This is the Daystar.)

As in the NKJV here and most other translations, dianoia is often translated as understanding and even other times as mind. Comprehension is the best English word to capture its meaning.
This is what is meant when the Lord instructed:

Mark 12:30 Love the Lord with all of your comprehension.

To love the Lord with all your comprehension requires sanctification from all worldly influences.
Paul refers to “the eye of your comprehension being enlightened”, and then refers to those who are alienated from the life of God as having their way of comprehension darkened resulting in “blindness of their hearts”.
 Ephesians 1:18, 4:18.
Jesus said:

Matthew 6:23 If the light that is in you is darkness, how great is that darkness!

This follows from Jesus warning his disciples to avoid the leaven of the Pharisees which is hypocrisy. [Luke 12:1] The traditional teachings of the Pharisees was the very thing that Paul had to renounce from his education to walk in the Spirit.
Colossians 2:8 Be careful not to allow anyone to captivate you through an empty deception according to the tradition of men, according to the elementary principles of the world rather than according to Christ.

Acts 26:18 To open their eyes and to turn them from darkness to light and from the authority of Satan unto God that they may receive remission of sin and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in Me.

Peter also makes reference to this Truth:
2 Peter 3:1 Stir up your comprehension by way of remembrance:
Peter is speaking of a sound mind when he writes:
1 Peter 1:13 Wherefore gird up the loins of your comprehension, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.

The expression ‘gird up the loins of your comprehension’ is a powerful image of a sound mind. Loins refers to the hips, our strongest weight-bearing joints, and critical for keeping our balance. God’s ‘ball and socket’ design is used extensively in modern engineering design. Therefore, a sober, pure and sincere mind keeps us walking in ‘the light of Truth’.
As Paul prays:
Philippians 1:9-11 And this I pray, that your love may abound in knowledge and all discernment, that you may approve all things that are excellent, that you may be sincere and without offense till the day of Christ, being filled with the fruits of righteousness, by Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.

Hebrews 8:10 I will put my laws in their comprehension.

1 Thessalonians 5:23 May the very God of peace sanctify you wholly and your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
