There are several possibilities. This first may be that spiritual gifts has ceased in the present time. Hebrews speaks of them as a "taste" of the power of the age to come. Hebrews also speaks of discernment as something that has to be "exercised" and associated with maturity.

Most churches are denominational. They present their doctrine as correct, complete, and final. These would not welcome anyone who would suggest the need for any change or suggestion of any error.

Part of discernment would be to know when sharing an observation would be helpful or not. Most people (Christians included) feel complete and in no need of any change. They are not seeking answers and often resent questions.

The bible says that those who wish to live godly will suffer persecution. The Greek word for persecution means to be put to flight. If the mere presence of someone trying to live godly is so offensive to others, imagine what the reaction would be to being told something godly.

If you have discernment, even if it is not a supernatural gift, you may keep exercising it, but spare yourself the expectation that you will find a church or others waiting for you to share it.

Here is a free pdf booklet touching on some to the deceptions Satan has filled the world with. It can be helpful for those just starting to sharpen their own discernment called, "Everything You Know is Wrong.

https://christianpioneer.com/ebooks/etwrong 15.pdf

The world (particularly the church) can benefit from drawing closer to truth (Jesus who is truth). I would exhort you to continue to exercise discernment as well as to encourage others, but understand that you may not often find others responsive.

Thanks for your input. Since writing the first post I have been thinking the same. I am thinking maybe it’s better to just not talk about the discernment. Especially at church. I agree and you’re right I should ask if sharing an observation will be helpful or not.

I’m not sure what you are asking…yes, I have the Holy Spirit, I am a Christian, it is a gift of the Holy Spirit.

Just don't give out personal information.  Talking about holy Spirit is perfectly fine.  Yes, I have  holy Spirit.  I have gift of wisdom and understanding.   Im confident you also have Holy Spirit.  Some people resist holy Spirit and leads to negative consequences.

Acts 7:51.   Ephesians 4:30.  What follows is anger, slander, bitterness and hate. Friend,  it leads to spiritual darkness. This group is under influence of devil.   Its result is internal defeat.

Im not talking about you. Just practice spiritual discernment and  Christian gets More experience.  We're both of body of Christ.   I know you have holy Spirit.    Peace.

I want encourage you. In our giftings we have freedom as long as we use them in the right ways. Like any format such as this there will likely be varied responses. If the Spirit is leading you to do or say something then nothing else matters. Just make sure it’s the Spirit.

Hanging out with unbelievers can wear a person down. It vexed Lot. Basically means they irritated and annoyed him. We need to reach them, but get our power and approval elsewhere. No better place to build one another up than with other sincere dedicated believers. The introverted feelers are often misunderstood everywhere. Even so, I think if you pray, the Lord will help you to navigate this.

Well, I feel maybe I shared too much. Maybe these forums are not the best place to over share about that. I don’t wanna sound like I’m spilling so much information out just in hopes I might meet someone the same. Probably not the best idea. I don’t wanna share just for the sake of sharing. I wanted to meet someone with the same gift. That’s all.

I think that different people can understand discerning spirits differently. Personally, I discern the spirits but I don't know what exactly you mean. Therefore I asked if you could give one-two examples of how you discern the spirits. This may help you to meet someone with the same gift.

I wouldn't be comfortable sharing that on a thread. I think I'll just continue to get to know people on the forums. Thanks for responding.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
