The Devil came into Worthy. He was lookin’ for a soul to steal.
He was in a bind ’cause he was way behind, and he was willing to make a deal.
When he came across a young man who played video games and played it hot,
The Devil jumped into his DMs and said, “Boy, let me tell you what.”

“I guess you didn’t know it, but I’m a gamer too.
And if you’re not scared to take a dare, I’ll make a bet with you.
Now, you play pretty good games, boy, but give the Devil his due—
I’ll bet a controller of gold against your soul ’cause I think I’m better than you.”

The boy said, “My name’s Ghostdog, and it might be a sin,
But I’ll take your bet; you’re gonna regret ’cause my faith is the strongest it’s ever been.”

Ghostdog, charge up your controller and play real hard.
’Cause sin is at your doorstep, and the Devil deals the cards.
If you win, you get this shiny controller made of gold—
But if you lose... well, the Devil gets your soul.

The Devil opened up his case and said, “I’ll start this show.”
Fire flew from his fingertips as he pulled out the golden controller.
He plugged the controller in, and it made an evil hiss—
And all of Ghostdog's demons joined in, and the games went something like this:

(Game 1 - Lust, Devil wins
Game 2 - Shame, Devil wins
Game 3 - Anger, Devil wins
Game 4 - Fear, Devil wins
Game 5 - Depression, Devil wins
Game 6 - Pride, Devil wins
Game 7 - Guilt, Devil wins
Game 8 - Rejection, Devil wins
Game 9 - Doubt, Devil wins
Game 10 - Death, Devil loses)

When the Devil finished, Ghostdog said, “Well, you’re pretty good, old son,
But sit down in that chair right there, let me show you how it’s done.”

Fire from the Mountain, I’ve already won—
All glory goes to the risen Son.
Child of God, it’s your time to show—
God, will Your dog lose? No, child, no.

(Game 1 - Lust, Ghostdog wins (1 Corinthians 6:18-19)
“Flee from sexual immorality… your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit.”

Game 2 - Shame, Ghostdog wins (2 Corinthians 5:17)
“If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has gone, the new is here!”

Game 3 - Anger, Ghostdog wins (Ephesians 4:26-27)
“Be angry and do not sin… do not give the devil a foothold.”

Game 4 - Fear, Ghostdog wins (2 Timothy 1:7)
“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind.”

Game 5 - Depression, Ghostdog wins (Psalm 42:11)
“Why, my soul, are you downcast? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise Him.”

Game 6 - Pride, Ghostdog wins (James 4:6)
“God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.”

Game 7 - Guilt, Ghostdog wins (1 John 1:9)
“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us…”

Game 8 - Rejection, Ghostdog wins (Psalm 27:10)
“Though my father and mother forsake me, the Lord will receive me.”

Game 9 - Doubt, Ghostdog wins (Proverbs 3:5-6)
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding…”

Game 10 - Death, Ghostdog wins (John 11:25)
“I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in Me will live, even though they die.”)

The Devil bowed his head because he knew he’d been beat—
And he laid that golden controller on the ground at Ghostdog’s feet.
Ghostdog said, “Devil, just come on back ’cause I know you’ll try again—
I done told you once, you fallen angel, my faith is the strongest it’s ever been.”

And he prayed:

Fire from the Mountain, I’ve already won—
All glory goes to the risen Son.
Child of God, it’s your time to show—
God, will Your dog lose? No, child, no.

I currently live in Georgia and actually used to live on Hickory Hills Rd, and so always was reminded of this song when it says "the devil jumped up on a hickory stump".

Anyway was also wondering if anyone had ever heard of a video game called Satans Hollow? I used to play it all the time in the arcade back in the 80's. Last I heard it had been re-released on Xbox and PlayStation in 2012.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
