When TV gets it right

So often we hear people complain about television, and rightfully so. Here is a thread pretty much to talk about the good television shows and even good commercials. Basically things on television that promote good values and/or education...or other things that are excellent. Only rule, it can't be found on a Christian network

First one I'd like to state is "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition". I like it because it doesn't put all the value on material things (though they do build a new house), but instead attempt to build hope within the family that is hurting. Families that have expirienced absolute tragedy get a ray of hope...in other words, the show doesn't exploit, it doesn't use sex as it's catch, it doesn't cuss....it gives hope and helps those who need help. It's quality.

Yepp I always end up crying during that show

We like the Animal Planet shows. Just last night we watched a couple of good programs (that will probably play again) One was where a man is trying to build up the tiger population again, so they take two tigers out on a reservation he bought and teach them to hunt...it was a great show...they did this with them for over 2 years and proved that a tiger born in captivity could be put back in the wild. Seeing two humans teach young tigers to have patience and how to use cover for stalking prey was really interesting...

Right after that one was a show called "walking with lions" it was pretty good, although I have to say that more than once I thought this guy was crazy getting that close to wild lions. There is gonna be a special two hour show on this one with an extended version that included deleted scenes.

I am guessing that lions would only attack if they felt threatened or were hungry - so if he knew how to aproach non-threateningly and such - I can see how he could get away with it.
