The definition of Faith

Faith does not always necessarily mean that if you have enough faith your wounds will always be healed - somtimes faith has to do with accepting the trial as God's will and trusting him with it...faith is sticking with God even when it seems like things are out of controll....read this passage, I found it very enlightening

Hebrews 10

32Remember those earlier days after you had received the light, when you stood your ground in a great contest in the face of suffering. 33Sometimes you were publicly exposed to insult and persecution; at other times you stood side by side with those who were so treated. 34You sympathized with those in prison and joyfully accepted the confiscation of your property, because you knew that you yourselves had better and lasting possessions.

35So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded. 36You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised. 37For in just a very little while,

"He who is coming will come and will not delay.

38But my righteous one[f] will live by faith.

And if he shrinks back,

I will not be pleased with him."[g] 39But we are not of those who shrink back and are destroyed, but of those who believe and are saved.

1Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. 2This is what the ancients were commended for.

3By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God's command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible. 4By faith Abel offered God a better sacrifice than Cain did. By faith he was commended as a righteous man, when God spoke well of his offerings. And by faith he still speaks, even though he is dead.

5By faith Enoch was taken from this life, so that he did not experience death; he could not be found, because God had taken him away. For before he was taken, he was commended as one who pleased God. 6And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.

7By faith Noah, when warned about things not yet seen, in holy fear built an ark to save his family. By his faith he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness that comes by faith.

8By faith Abraham, when called to go to a place he would later receive as his inheritance, obeyed and went, even though he did not know where he was going. 9By faith he made his home in the promised land like a stranger in a foreign country; he lived in tents, as did Isaac and Jacob, who were heirs with him of the same promise. 10For he was looking forward to the city with foundations, whose architect and builder is God.

11By faith Abraham, even though he was past age

Great little post I hope you'll embrace what I have to add:

We often perceive our faith as being some kind of strength that comes from within, that when we feel tired and weak, then our faith must be tired and weak also and then we deceive ourselves into not applying it.

Faith is given us by God, therefore it is flawless, eternal and always available, much like the good Lord himself; but often, we blame God for issues in our life, often we ignore him and often we stubbornly refuse to turn to him....much like faith. It's always there and its always sufficient to get us through, but we need to choose to apply it.

I like to see it as a tool. With most people, if we had to fix a jet-plane for instance and someone gave us a 5mm driver to fix it with...we'd think they were out of their mind and go looking for a better solution of our own. We look at the big problem and expect the solution to be big as well. But God knows what is wrong in our lives and gives us exactly the right tool to fix it (through his power and authority of course) regardless how small or fragile that tool mght seem, its the right tool for the Job.

Faith is hard at first for many, for it believing in things not seen. But it is easier to get to than anyone my think. Just look at placebo effects. Me I started by reading about things which are not discernable through the naked eye, and of course lot's of prayer and bible reading. Also if you look at Oxygen, Bacteria, DNA, these are things which not seen without the help of high power microscopes. They are so small, and yet so very powerful. One Virus in a host can multiply to millions and spread to pnademic proportions throughout the world. Oxygen is vital for all life on earth. Without Dna, there would not be a Blueprints for The Cells that make up all carbon based life. So if you have faith like a Mustard Seed you can say to a Mountain move and indeed it shall move. Now don't you go on a meditating campaign, trying to moved observable mountains. Think withing, young grasshopper, think within!.

Many think that faith is believing in the extrordinary, or when all the facts are gone, we still believe. You accurately state and post (with scripture) that faith is about trust. Faith is trusting in God...good job
