I keep looking back at the people that I have encountered in my life. I remember so many wonderful people, and yes, many interesting one too. However, I think the look I up to the most has to be my old youth pastor who is currently a missionary to Thailand. Sure, he was there in the good times and we all laughed and had fun(teen group). We all had a wonderful time, but in that fun time, he shared God with us. Yes, I remember him for the good times, but more importantly, I remember him for those not-so-great times and the memories that stay behind. I remember when I had gotten into trouble dealing with the chat and my parents. In that time, he was there and he spoke to my with love about what the bible says and tried to comfort me in my hurt too. Not to mention, I had a best friend for about 5-7 years and around the end of that friendship, lets just say I found out she wasn't exactly "straight". There were many problems that followed that. He was there when I needed someone to talk to, he still listened after I lied to him about it out of fear, and he tried to help in every way possible. More than that, he helped me to look forward at the blessings that can come from God.

About a year and a half ago, I gave him a note stating "My friend has... problem. I don't know how to help her..." Even though it was obvious(and I didnt' care that it was), I wanted to tell him that it was me, but I was too afraid. He told me to come back to him and he would give me some verses. I went back to him about a two months later and he gave me some verses. He never showed that he knew. A year ago, as of October 31st(Halloween replacement party thing :) ), I remember that I went up to him, reminded him of the situation and asked, "What would you do if you found out who it was". Of course, I was nervous because the last time I told him something(my x-best friend) he tried to get me to tell my parents. I didnt' want them to know about this. He told me that he would sit down with them and talk to them. He said that he woudl probably have his wife with him and they would pray. Of course, he had to to ask me why I asked and I said I was just curious. Then, his "famous" statement that I will never forget, "Is it you?".... Oh boy. Well, for the next 6-7 months before he went off on deputation and we got a new youth pastor, he helped me through that and told me that I could call him when I was struggling, even if it was two in morning :P

Finally, around the end of those phone calls and him trying to help me by giving advice, because of that "x-best friend".. I had some questions dealing with virginity. There are a few on here that know what that is, but it really isn't that important.

What I am getting at is that he was there for me for the past 7 years that I have been going to this church and I know he prays for me. I know that even though he would always tell me to be obedient(constantly he told me this) and even told me I was carnal.. he did it out of love and to me, he is the best example of charity I have seen, other than the Lord Jesus. I know that probably all have at least one person that we cherish for the fact that there were there for us in the good and the bad times.

Why don't we try for the same? As we go about our day, we should try to be like those people that we look up to in the Lord and try to be there for those around us who may be struggling. Great one another by first name. Ladies, try a hug or to :24: Try just talking to someone, even if it is just "Hello, how are doing". Ask them about their life and pray for them earnestly :P Many times they dont' say it, but I pretty much know who is praying for me at my church. I can tell by the way they act and the way they care. They way they ask me about how things are going :24: Care and pray. Be that special someone to a person in need. :P:):)

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
