I went to check out the site for this article. She really brings out some good stuff. There are links there to atheist sites where she debates the atheists. So far, I've only read one thread on those. There were like 50 atheists against just her, and she held her own really well. It was pretty hilarious, because at the end of the debate, the moderator for the atheist boards was stumping around cyber space declaring their 'victory' over her, not even seeming to realize how it looked for the site there to need 50 or so atheists to debate one Christian!

I've noticed that that seems to be a pattern when you debate atheists. They always gang up on you, and throw so much stuff at you that they wear you and everyone trying to read the debate completely out. It's like declaring a presidential candidate debate and having one lone Republican debate the whole Democratic party. They try to win by deluge (the atheistic version of the flood?). :)

The debate never stays on topic with so many different people throwing out so many different things, and it ends up just being exhausting, with no real clear line of proof or logic being able to be established. It would be one thing if there was some sort of tag team arrangement, with the number of participants limited upfront, but when you have so many it just exhausts a person trying to keep up with what's been said, who said it, and whether or not it was on topic. (Yet another game skeptics play in an attempt to win debates any way possible, I think.) Still, even with these defects, the debate was well worth reading, since she presents some unique and thoughtful points, IMO, and it's an excellent example of skeptic gamesmanship.

Thanks to whoever posted this; it's a site I'll go back to, and it even recommended some more sites I plan to check out. :o

Your right TaP we need to reach people and not hit them over the head with scriptures or cast about judgements. I think as Christian it should be first and foremost our gaol to reflect the love that Jesus showed, I think if all of us did that then people would be drawn to us even the sceptics. the funny thing is that even as Christian we are to be skeptics, well what I mean is as Paul pointed out about the Borean Brothers and Sisters for their putting the saying to the test. of course we do want use scripture but it's all in the presentation. we need to make it appealing to people and like the saying goes you can draw more bees to honey than vinagre.....

Great thread indeed. Thanks for sharing that. People are jumping on my board in attempt to prove Christianity wrong and this information helps us as believers to not fall in traps set by these skeptics. God Bless!!!

A little something I just came up with. Feel free to use it like a fast draw on any to whom it may apply. :P

Games skeptics play:

:48: Supermodel: this game is played by pretending to miss a point so obvious a

supermodel couldn't miss it, while picking on some tiny part of a phrase or

even a word, as if THAT were the point being made, and then attacking the

non-existent point you have accused the person of making. Example:

Skeptic says: You said you have a life so you don't have time to read all the things

we all say, huh?

What was actually said: that the person chose to read the comments of others at

his own pace, not at the pace the challenging supermodel chose to act as if he had

the right to demand someone read them at. Uh, duh, if you didn't get that, contact

Vague immediately.

:PI WANT MY MOMMY!: This game is played by taking a general remark personally.

Example: Someone says that because of certain logical inconsistencies in

atheistic arguments, he feels that the atheistic position is fundamentally less

honest than that of the agnostic. You whine and accuse the person of saying

YOU

I doubt if unbelievers would have a problem with Kindlifestyles post, in fact it's so spot-on until it's hilarious.

I'm sure the other camp could post something similar about believers and how we debate, and it would be just as true.

Kinda like those, "you might be a republican if"... then they came out with "you might be a democrat if"...

Just human observations, all in good spirit.

The problem with debating many skeptics and anti christians is that no one can open a mind that wants to remain closed.

Well.....this has surely become interesting. :)

Maybe it hit a little too close to home for some. As one poster suggested, if you read some threads on an Atheist site, you will find the article to be very accurate.

And as far as my mind not being open.........

My mind is very open, but so is my heart. And that's where God does His work first.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
