Want to do a study on men in Bibletimes?

Please suggest with who we start.

In Christ, Angels

Specific men or men in general?

If it's men in general then you probable should start at the beginning with Adam.

What kind of man was he?

Did he learn his lesson after the original sin?

How do you think he felt when one of his sons killed the other?

What was it like for him to walk in the garden with God?

Just a few generic questions.

Angels, let me know if this is not the direction you intended for this thread.

And what was it like for him when he could no longer walk in the garden with God?

Good questions Knight!

Offhand I would say that he was lost, alone and incomplete.

Kind of like we are before Christ draws us to Him.

Or worse! He used to walk with God in the cool of the evening. He saw God's Glory. All that was taken away. But you are correct, he was most certainly alone and incomplete. I've often wondered how long he lived before the fall. Would probably take a long time to name everything!

According to the Bible this happened in one day. However, this could get us into the whole young earth vs. old earth discussion which is not the point of this thread.

By the way. Did you ever think about some of the animals that were named? I'm convinced that the duck-billed platypus was made from leftover spare parts. I'd have loved to have seen the look on Adam's face when asked to name it. Hence the silly name.

Thanks Wis.

Thought I'd stick around long enough to find out what the Lord wants me to do.

I did a little more reserch on Adam, I think that we can learn so much of this, I might get a scribbler to make note from what we learn..

Anyway this is what I found to start with

We can hardly imagine what it must have been liked to be the first and only person on earth.  It

Well I guess better late than ever, huh?!

I've read the posts and man, you guys covered some good ground on Adam.  My thoughts on him?  Well, I think almost every reference to him in the New Testament shows him in a bad light!  Yet at his beginning the progenitor of our race was full of promise, a fore-shadowing of our LORD JESUS CHRIST Himself.

I think Adam was a noble man, made in the image of our LORD.  He was a regal man, entrusted with the subduing of GOD's creation to his will.  He was a highly intelligent man, capable of inventing names for ALL the rest of creation (a mind like a computer).  He was a distinguished man, clothed with a divine aura which only disappeared when he sinned, leaving him (and Eve) naked and ashamed.

In fact he was such a wonderful being that our FATHER considered him to be "very good".  One thing, however, he lacked, and that was faith.  He could not trust his/our GOD.  Such a lack is always (as we now know today) bound to lead to tragedy.  As I said earlier you can see the spiritual relationship between Adam and JESUS.  Adam, the first man was an example of disobedience and death, while CHRIST, "the second Adam" was the ultimate example of obedience AND eternal life.
