I started reading through Genesis again and I keep coming across this "we". I have heard people discuss this issue, but I have no true idea of what that is talking about. I used to just pass over it when I read it thinking it was God. What does it mean?

Verses like these?

(Genesis 1:26)

Then God said, "Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the cattle and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth."

(Genesis 3:22)

Then the LORD God said, "Behold, the man has become like one of Us, knowing good and evil; and now, lest he stretch out his hand, and take also from the tree of life, and eat, and live forever."

(Genesis 11:7)

"Come, let Us go down and there confuse their language, that they may not understand one another's speech."

I believe it Is God showing his plurality for us to know he God is 3 persons yet only one God.

Scroll up and read Trinity's response. It gives numerous example of verses with "we" in it.

I concur. The "We" refers to the Triune God of heaven and earth. The Holy Trinity in absolute Unity. Thank You, Lord Jesus!

Greetings

God is spirit and not flesh however the fullness of Him did appear in the flesh. As 7 is the number of completion so do the seven spirits of Isa.11:2 make up the complete likeness of God

Isa.11:2 And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD;

These are the seven spirits and eyes of God. Through these seven spirits God as one is able to see all and do all. They are the "us" of Ge.1:26. It is a common misunderstanding that this is Jesus talking to God but we must remember that Jesus was a man that did not come into being until 4000 years later. However the spirit that gave Him life was from before the foundations of the earth so when Jesus says that as the Word (God's Word is Spirit) He was there in the beginning we can understand the difference between being present in spirit versus in flesh.

A quick summarry of how "us" created man in the image is as follows. The spirt of council sought after knowledge and through understanding gained wisdom. Then with the spirit of might, the spirit of the Lord formed man from the earth as He took council of Himself (the "us").

There was a problem because Adam being formed of only good could not comprehend righteousness since he did not know evil. Some people have a hard time accepting the fact that the fall of man was part of the plan of God to fulfill the second part of His statement. God completed the image part and confirmed it by stating it twice (two is a witness) in the next verse however man coming into the "likeness" is the completion of the second part of that plan.

Peace and Blessings

Douglas

God has two things that are considered alive. Good and Truth. Into your will you can receive the good of God. Into you understanding you can receive the truth of God. Emanuel Swedenborg once said that if the King James wasn't "corrected" by well meaning scribes, it said the "breath of lives" instead of the "breath of life" in the singular. However, the plural really only refers to two things not more than two. And God being essential three things (the trinity includes the result of those two things being together), doesn't mean three persons or three personalities. The infinite Father of Love, the visible Son or Truth send forth the Holy Spirit. This is not more than one mind or more than one body.

(Genesis 11:7)

"Come, let Us go down and there confuse their language, that they may not understand one another's speech."

I believe it Is God showing his plurality for us to know he God is 3 persons yet only one God.

I havenever understood why people think that the Godhead is only one person? God, Christ, and the Holy Spirit are 3 seperate God's. When God said, "Let us make man in our image" he was speaking of all three of them having thier parts in the creation.

Why and what reason would God portray to be 3 seperate beings? To what does something like that in any way have any type of bearing on our relationship with God in having us to refer to him in 3 different personalities?

Why would scriptures like these be written if there was only one God with three different personalities:

Ephesians 3:9 And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ:

Hebrews 1:5-8 For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son? And again, when he bringeth in the firstbegotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him. And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire. But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom.

**This is God talking to Christ.

Colossians 3:1 If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.

1 John 4:12 No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.

Matthew 3:16-17 And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

**Here you see all three seperate - Christ on the earth, the HS as a dove, and God was still in heaven making that statment.

John 20:17 Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God.

John 3:17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

**God sent Christ, he did not come down here as Christ.

Not separae gods, card; 1 God, 3 Persons.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
