There are a few interesting verses that follow after their death. Revelation 11:8 8 " And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, which is spiritually called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified." What the heck could this mean? This city is known as the Spiritual Sodom, and Egypt? But is also the place where the Lord was crucified. Yes, this is most like ly Jerusalem, but why is it called spiritual Sodom, and Egypt? Is this another mystery of the Bible? Or is there an account to this? Okay, now what about these verses? Revelation 11-13 11 "And after three days and an half the Spirit of life from God entered into them, and they stood upon their feet; and great fear fell upon them which saw them." 12 "And they heard a great voice from heaven saying unto thwm, Come up hither. And they ascended up to heaven in a cloud; and their enemies beheld them." 13 "And the same hour was there a great earthquake, and the tenth part of the city fell, and in the earthquake were slain of men seven thousand: and the remnant were affrighted, and gave glory to the God of Heaven." A tenth part of the city fell, and seven thousand men/women/children died in the earthquake. Is this city still Jerusalem? Any imput or comments on this topic? God bless you all. I can't say too much here, and my thoughts may be totally off, so forgive me if they are. The book of Daniel teaches that the last world government will have 10 toes, five iron and five clay. Does this have any connection? Sodom may be the mass immorality and Egypt may be the bondage of sin. Don't forget that during this time Jerusalem won't be a city of peace, but of war and hatred because the antichrist will set up his rule from the newly built temple and put an end to the temple sacrifices and basically declare himself 'god'. Just some random thoughts.

If you say two individual men, then you are wrong. The scriptures DON't say that. As for Sodom and Egypt and "where the Lord was crucified", the Great City is the city Babylon mentioned in Revelations. Jesus was NOT hung on the cross in Jerusalem. He was hung on the cross at Galgotha - OUTSIDE the city in the trash heap. Blessings, Dad Ernie

And thank you for your imput DE. Do I believe that these are two men? Well, I did. I didn't really know now. They could be, but they also might be the church of Christ and Israel. But why would it say they are laying on the street though, dead for 3 1/2 days? Do you think this refers to the rapture DE? After they die, they shall ascend into heaven. Could this refer to the rapture?

Concerning why the "great city" is "spiritually called Sodom and Egypt," Because the Jews are still in slavery to their sins (Egypt) and the religion they now practice is perverted and unable to produce life. They have no priesthood, no sacrifice, no temple, no hope . . . not until the two witnesses come and proclaim the Gospel with the same confirmation Christ did, life from the dead. Dad Ernie, Galgotha was indeed where our Lord was crucified, but it was no "great city," just part of the outer regions of one . . . But, you never know. But look at this also: Does that 3 1/2 days mean 3 1/2 days, or is it symbolic for 3 1/2 years? I doubt it, but it's possible. Comments? Maybe the 3 and 1/2 days will be like when Jesus gave the sign of Jonah as a clue to the Jews that he would be in the earth for 3 days.
