News: Republicans Happier Than Democrats

I thought it was common knowledge, but in case there was doubt, there is now a poll that proves the right is happier than the left. I guess that's 'cause we're right and are happy being right?

The Pew Research Center recently updated a question about happiness that the National Opinion Research Center at the University of Chicago has been asking since 1972.

In every asking of the question, ROLL CALL reports, Republicans have been happier than Democrats.

Republicans tend to be better off than Democrats, and that is one explanation for the happiness gap. But when the researchers controlled for household income, Republicans at all income levels were happier than Democrats at those same income levels.

As for ideology, conservative Republicans were happier than conservative Democrats, and moderate to liberal Republicans were happier than comparable Democrats.

I think a more accurate post would be, "Conservatives happier than liberals."

We're not storing up all that venom for so-called peace marches or figuring out what 'lost cause' we're going to try and salvage.

We don't have to resort to name calling to prove the point (yes, some do - but this is liberalism's only offensive weapon).

I still like the old saying:

Republicans inherit Daddy's wealth

Democrats inherit Daddy's debts (assuming, of course, they know who daddy is)

Why shouldn't they be. Any party that doesn't have Bill and Hillary Clinton, John Kerry or Ted Kennedhy in their ranks have plenty of reason to be happy!

I've worked for conservative employers and liberal employers. Benefits are always higher (and pay) with conservative employers than liberal ones. Don't believe me? Look at the highest rated companies for employees and look at where their political donations go.

Only if you still hold to the long outdated 'zero sum' myth - if I have more, it means somebody else has less.

I can't speak for every case, but has ever notice how one is said to be lacking compassion if he points out that the bulk of people (in this country anyway) who are poor have made CHOICES that have made them poor?

MOST of this 'less fortunate' mishmash is Washington doubletalk.

Btw, here's another one for you: the RICHEST politicians - in general terms - are Democrats.

John Kerry is the richest Senator in America - and that doesn't include the fact his wife is a billionaire.

Herb Kohl is rich, the founder of Kohl's stores.

The Kennedys were born with a silver spoon in their mouths - but they 'care' about the poor. Ever notice, however, that when it comes time for the Inauguration, it ain't the homeless they invite?

I've long said this and it's still true.

Republicans and Democrats BOTH love money.

Only Democrats try to pretend that they don't.

That's a good observation: no such thing as zero sum. But a little cynical too. I a a Repub. and dont love money. There are many of us who dont love money.
