I suppose that is a classic Baptist-type view.

Nope its not a Baptist doctrine. The core set of beliefs that define the Baptist denomination do not take into regard individual beliefs about spiritual gifts. There are charismatic baptists.

BSS I just flipped the channel and guess who is there Robert Tilton...God was apparently speaking through him angry that we are not giving enough. Its so good to have apostles and prophets today. DANGER WILL ROBINSON!!! DANGER!!!!

If Tilton calls himself a prophet or apostle and is a fraud, that does not negate a potential biblical, genuine office/individual. Classic logical fallacies to take one small sample and argue to the larger case, or attack an individual's credibility to negate an unparallel argument, etc. Do not throw the baby out with the bathwater. There are bad teachers, evangelists, pastors, doctors, and lawyers, but that does not negate the role or good ones.

Argue exegetically. Why accept only 3/5 offices in the context of a message to the churches (applicable to us by principle)?

I think the article does not adequately distinguish prophets, prophetic gifts, original apostles/prophets, local church apostles/prophets, the nature of Scripture vs offices/roles/spiritual gifts. I think a 5-fold ministry concept could be cogently developed. Some of the T.V. teachers probably do take it too far with questionable extras added.

God does not call the Qualified, God Qualifies the called...

as far as i know, there has never been anything from God that says, that the Gifts of the Spirit have been revolked, quite the contrary...... neither has the Armor of God been taken from us unless we turn it over our selves.... and neither has any of the areas of ministry..... if we do not have any of this, it is of our own doings, not that of God revolking it.......

if we do not have the armor of God on, that is because we never put it on, or we have removed it our selves,

if we do not have the Gifts of the Spirit, it is because we never have accepted that which God is giving us, or we have relinquished it....

if we have no ministry that God has given you, then you have ignored His call, or are not listening for it, or you have turned your back on His calling for you.....

all the areas of ministry are still in effect,

if you say that one area was reserved only for one set of people, and those people are no longer around, how would that area of the ministry be fulfilled, how would the ministry be complete?

do you build a house with out windows or doors?

do you build a house with out a roof?

do you build a house with out walls?

do you build a house with out a foundation?

then how can the ministry be complete with out one area of it being in effect....

nothing has changed sincethe early church, except us....

we have turned our backs on the Lord.... not the Lord turning His back on us.....

cant you see Him Reaching towards you beckoning you to come????

cant you Hear Him calling your name? bidding you to do His work????

cant you feel Him holding you? comforting you and strengthening you????

cant you feel His tug? pulling at your sleeve? trying to get you to turn around? and see Him and Hear Him? so that you know what your calling is????

NO???? you can't???? time to repent and accept Him... take Him and Live for Him......turn it all over to Him and He will show you what He wants you to do....

do not expect Him to tell you what you want to hear....

for he will have you sell all that you have, and give to the poor and follow Him.... and you will be saddened... for you have much........

You are being called...... He is standing at your door, and is waiting for you to invite Him in, and it is your choice, whether to invite Jesus in, or if you do, are you going to let him be Lord over part of your life or your Entire life....

your choice....

Well worded my friends. The modern church is a caricature of the early church. We are impotent at times, because we do it our way instead of based on the principles and power of God's pattern. Satan still uses supernatural strategies to undermine God's plan and purposes. How much more do we need God's supernatural presence to fight the spiritual warfare. It is not just about church growth, seminars, media, conferences, books, etc.

If you do believe in modern day apostles to what extent does their apostolic power go? Are there teachings inspired or on par with scripture? If you answer no, then maybe they are do not fit the

There is a distinction between the unique apostles that contributed to Scripture, and the ones mentioned in Eph. 4 that are part of local churches (especially overseeing many church plants). Their teachings are not on par with Scripture.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
