I work at a store...anyway lots of public coming and going...I have one customer in paticular who comes in...always seems like he is able to hit the really slow times where no one comes in for a while. Anyway, he has lately been telling me his views on the bible...I am not interested in his views but I cannot find the right words to make him understand that...If I say I am not interested then he says you are just uneducated on what the bible really says. I try not to argue with him as I am very new...lets just say I am still on the milk. I have not gotten good yet at remembering where I read something in the bible....I can remember pretty clearly what it says but not chapter or verse.

Could you all please give me some help here....maybe point me to some good scriptures so I will be able to let him know I am not interested without having to get downright nasty...I don't like to be mean to people...but this guy is really yankin' me.

Here is a brief rundown of what he says to me...

1. Kane and Abel were twins....born at the same time...Abel was Adams child and Kane was satans.

2. Jesus was not a jew....hard to explain this one....he says that Moses and the people wandering in the mountains never returned to Isreal that they absorbed into Europe and that they were caucasion not dark...thus the name of the mountain Causcedon sp?

3. That the original definition for adultry was not the definition as we know it now....that it used to mean not to mix races.

I won't put down anymore as I myself find the rest offensive I am sure you all know what I mean. I need help I have to work tomorrow and I know he is gonna come back in....I need advice on how to make him stop...short from barring him from the store...which my boss says I can do if he keeps saying what hes saying....but I would like to just be able to be better armed with Gods word...any advice on good scripture to read would be great. Maybe I should just tell him he can't come back when I am working. I don't think I am strong enough for this right now....I can't stand there and just nod my head anymore all the while thinking please just leave...or geez come on someone come in so he will leave. I hope I am not coming off as a wimp cuz I am not....I do have a temper and he is pushing me but I am trying to show light in my life not a temper.

Love and Blessings

Refugepsa91, it seems that this man's views are flawed . Those are untrue,

unscriptural, and heretical. What we should do is pray first for him. Then, I

would speak to him, one-on-one, not to argue, but to see where each other is

coming from. And try your best to do it in love.

Scriptures? Well, I try to find some good scriptures to help you.

What Bible is he reading from?

Well, I know that if you look up Gen. 4, you will see that it clearly states they were born at seperate times.

Genesis 4:1,2 - Adam lay with his wife Eve, and she became pregnant and gave birth to Cain. She said, "With the help of the LORD I have brought forth a man." Later she gave birth to his brother Abel.

I also know that the entire book of Joshua is about the Israelites conquoring Canaan.

The problem is, I bet I or Bill or Dr. Luke or or Dad Ernie or George or any one of us could be in the store with you and you would not change this guys' beliefs with Scriptural knowledge, because he obviously doesn't believe what it says! (Examples above.)

I don't know what this guy's agenda is, nor why he's so insistent on making you his disciple - or at least agree with him. Maybe you can challenge him with that and don't let up. Some would advocate you flat out tell him, "I rebuke you in the name of Jesus!" Then if he asks why, just tell him he is lying about what the Scriptures are saying. But, I know taking that kind of stand takes courage you may not have. I don't mean that in a condencending way but an understanding one. I can't always muster that kind of courage in myself either! (I have a lot more boldness in writing than I do in speaking. It's strange that way.)

If taking either of these kinds of stands are too difficult for you, I really do believe you should let your boss handle him and barr him from the store. He is, after all, distracting you from your work. (Even if it is "slow" I am sure there are straightening or cleaning or other things that need routine maintenace on you could be doing instead.) I know it seems like defeat, but it isn't. 1) He obviously has his mind made up and probably has some weird defense for why he believes contrary to what the Bible clearly says. 2) There are times when the only chance you have to reach someone is on your knees in private and your mouth shut in public, if you know what I mean! 3) Submitting to the protection of someone in authority over you (in this case your boss) is Biblical.

OK?

Grace be with you - sincerely!

It is possible the man has a borderline mental illness or demonic influence. It is inappropriate for him to approach you at work and for you to use your employer's time debating him. If you cannot tell him to quit harassing you, then your boss should step in. If the individual persists, the police could remove him for trespassing. There are no end to individuals who lack wisdom. It would be loving and self-protective (he may like you) to curtail this sincere, but deluded gentleman.

Let God bring someone else into his life to challenge him for now.

This sounds like the case for sure.

Some people are so convinced that nothing can change their way of thinking at all, in whatever way you show them.

I like the other thing Neb said

There are times when the only chance you have to reach someone is on your knees in private and your mouth shut in public, if you know what I mean!

I'd pray for this man for sure. He is consuming time of your workday, and that, I would feel assured, does not set well with your boss (or will not eventually). To try to engage him in a spiritual debate will only make the problem worse. You will be more effective in dealing with this man by praying for them regularly.

I agree too with godrulz...someone else needs to step up and challenge this man right now...not you. You do not have really an appropriate forum (your work time) to engage a spiritual debate with him. When you pray for this man, pray that God will raise someone up to challenge his beliefs and show him the truth.

First, I would tell him that as a Christian, you're first obligation is obedience to your employer by doing your work; laxity at work would constitute disobedience and thus sin.

Second, I'd wonder what his motive is for telling you this. Is he just lonely and looking for somebody to chat with or does he have an agenda.

It seems there's a lot of this serpent seed doctrine being spread lately.

Pasty's got a point. If the man's got a deamon, then pray. In Mark 9 Jesus Says Some kinds of Deamons can only be cast out by prayer. GOD can work this out. Praying is one of the best things to do right now. Take a stand for Christ. :sam: GOD WILL help you. :a2: Have Faith. :sam: I'm Praying.:rofl: :t:

I would ask him if he is affiliated with any groups. He sounds like a white nationalist.

C4C...thank you that is exactely how I felt when he started to talk to me...that all the was saying was heretical.

nebula....I looked up and read Gen. last night after reading your post and I too saw no similarity to what he was trying to say...and no I don't have that kind of courage right now...but I am growing stronger in the word day by day so I hope to be able to stand up with confidence soon. If there is any barring him from the store to be done I will definately let my boss do it...and he will have no problem with it...my boss is a very nice man...

godrulz....I thought about him having a mental illness...I guess it was the look on his face when he was talking to me...a kind of smirk...and looking at me like I just didn't know anything and needed to listen to him...

Bill...I will most certainly start to pray for someone to show this man the light...because otherwise he is going to be lost...I know in my heart that I could never change his mind about his beliefs...so no I am not going to try he would make mincemeat out of me in this stage of my walk.

Cats...there does seem to be alot of this going on lately....and only in the last couple of months or so for me...thats why I posted here about this because I was shocked that this kind of doctrine came into the little movie store I work at.

Patsy....you are so right! As soon as the word adultry came out of his mouth I got nervous...and I am going to start to park in front of the store instead of behind the building across the street...so when I go to my car at night I am right in front of all the business there and the busy road is right by me too and its out in the open....I now believe you about righteous igdination...I actually felt it rise up in me...I felt like he personally insulted me...which in a way he did.

be joyful....yes prayers are going to be flowing from my mouth about this man...and they have been....but more for him not coming into the store while I work and such.

Teh Wiccan....exactely!!! as soon as he started to talk about caucasions and such I immediately thought of a white nationalist. And that is scarey! I mean the guy seemed to be hung up on color....

and last of all I want to thank each and everyone of you for your great replies...thank God for all of you...I honestly don't know what I would have done without you. Praise God he didn't come in the store today...he even had movies due today but never came in....I actually prayed he wouldn't and I think God knows that today wasn't my day to handle it...but after reading your posts I feel like on Weds. when I go back that I will be ok...and I got my heads up warning from all of you so now I got a starting point...like I said I won't debate the bible with him...I will just have to tell him to leave me alone.

Love and Blessings to you all

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
